On Wednesday 21 May we travelled through the Cariboo Region - the back door to Whistler. It was an amazing scenic gorge. Whistler is an amazing city, the host of the 2010 Olympic Games, and are they sure gearing up for it. Whistler village itself is amazing as it is only foot traffic, so there were heaps of people milling around, playing football in the streets. This is certainly the place to visit if you are a skiier - Stuart you would love it, there are heaps of Australians and Kiwi's working here.

Once again a hurried one night stay then up early for our trip to Victoria, we returned to the coastal road down to Vancouver where we boarded our ferry to Victoria - through the Georgia Strait. We went straight to Butchart Gardens. So amazing that it deserves a separate blog entry.

Wow a free day - we had picked an option of a sea plane flight over Victoria. It was a really great look of the panorama. We then had a free afternoon to wander - we are back in our hotel now 3pm to just full out all our cruise documentation. As we are entering an American ship the Statendam we are going onto American territory. As such you have to sign your life away and queue for hours - our very experienced tour guide John House will try to get us to the ship early so we can get through it all as quickly as possible.

Everyone is really excited, there are about 1200 passengers, so the chances are we might not all meet up on board. We are going to exchange room numbers tonight so we can try to track each other down.

Tonight we are having our farewell dinner - it will be sad to say goodbye to John our amazing APT guide and Dan our driver.
