So bright and early on day 2 I was picked up by the Yosemite bug bus to head to Yosemite National Park. The journey was uneventful.

The hostel I was to stay at for 2 nights was outside of the national park itself but still remote, and in nice surroundings. On the afternoon of our arrival we went for a walk around the hostel, to a small cave which it is suspected was an old gold mine. It was a dissapointment that we did not spend the afternoon in the np, but it was pleasant, and a warm up for my leg muscles.

On return to the hostel we had dinner, then one fo the other guests, and I, used the spa at the hostel. Yes I did use the word hostel and spa in the same sentance! For just $7 we spent the evening relaxing in the sauna and hot tub drinking tea! 4 of us then went to do a spot of star gazing (of which I could identify none) before having another early night.

Day 3, after the largest pancake I have ever eaten, we went to Yosemite. First we went to the mariposa sequoia

It was bloody freeeeezing!
grove to see the giant redwoods, which were giant! Again when the photos follow you will see what I mean. We then went to Glacier point for lunch. From there you get the most amazing view of a large part of the Yosemite valley. It has to be one of the most breathtaking places at which I have had my lunch! Finally in the afternoon we did a hike on the mist trail, which as its name suggests you walk through the mist of a waterfall which was also very impressive. Unfortuately being an area our outstanding natural beauty I really cannot begin to decribe what we saw, so hope to be able to show you soon.

That evening, after another nice dinner, I treated myself to a massgae and further time in the spa, to sooth my aching legs, and prepare me for the next days trip back to SF.

Hey Lou! Yosemite looks beautiful! I'm really jealous! Last Wednesday was hard to get through without my weekly dosage of naff addictive TV and Lou time! Somehow I made it through though and have only one more to cope with before I join you! I look forward to the next instalment... x
