Famous Library Building
This is a new building built to look like he coleseum in Rome We have been in Vancouver since 11 May, it is a really lovely city with huge high rises, beautiful ocean. We have enjoyed visiting Stanley Park, Capalino Bridge and Grouse Mountain.
On our first day we went on the big red bus, hop on hop off. Went to Granville Island Market, great fresh fruit and veges - must go back there when we get off the cruise so we can be self sufficient and not have to eat out.
We then walked down Robson Street (main shopping street) then down to Gas Town (named after a publican that talked a lot (Gassie). We had dinner at Spagetti's big pasta meal, we were hungry as we hadnt had lunch - made our breakfast last the day.
On Tuesday we went on a tour to Grouse Mountain - on the way there we stopped at a Salmon farm then to the Capalino Bridge then Grouse Mountain (5 hr trip there and back). Unfortunately it was an ugly day and up on Grouse Mountain we couldn't see a thing. It was actually snowing up there!
On Tuesday night we met up with 45 fellow travellers doing the rail trip and
cruise. Got on really well with some already so it should be a good trip. We went on another city tour on Wednesday morning, our tour guide that travels with us, did the commentary, it was really good and we found out more information. We figured that sitting on a train for a week we better do some exercise so we went for a brisk walk around the waterfront from our hotel (Fairmont Waterfront) it was lovely, found a good restaurant for tea.
Up again it is 5.45am and we are off to the train to Kamloops for an overnight stay, then Banff next night. Update to follow.

HI guys. Interesting reading your blog. Sounds Llike you have seen lots already. Pity about the rain at Grouse Mountain. Did you see the massive wooden carvings. You can always go up there again. Looking forward to your next update
