Wednesday 30 April - After three days of solid walking came our first day of rest...much needed, after climbing up steep hills, navigating fords and bog hopping in an attempt to keep our feet dry (anyone who has had to walk across bog will know this is not an easy task) over the last few days.

We were 'so' pleased to find that finally we had a very good internet connection, which made it possible for us to update our blog. We are not unsurprisingly finding that in some places it is almost impossible to access a signal so that we can update our blog. Most of our day was spent writing our blog and adding our photos/videos - it was very exciting to look over the photos and videos again of the last few days. Our B&B host gave us a lovely surprise by telling us that we could have our lunches for free the following day as a contribution towards our fundraising effort to raise money for the Ectopic Pregnancy Trust (EPT) - we were so extremely grateful and gave her a couple of the EPT pin badges as a way of expressing our gratitude and to help raise awareness of the condition.

After hours of updating our blog, we decided to head out into the lovely town of Hebden Bridge (we did have some photos of the town, but seem to have deleted them inadvertently - which is a shame). It is such a picturesque town; we could really see the attraction of living here - with its gorgeous shops, inviting cafes, pubs and restaurants and the very friendly people in the town. We met a lovely woman and her son sat outside a cafe - and chatted to her about life in this picturesque town and our fundraising hike for the EPT. One moment we were all enjoying sitting outside chatting and then the next moment the heavens opened! Luckily we were sat under cover. We said our goodbyes to the woman and her son, and dashed a short distance from the cafe into a pub to discuss the exciting '19 mile' hike, planned for the following day! After a very nice Thai meal we headed back to our B&B to get some much needed rest for the next day's adventures. Still 226 miles to go!

If you would to donate towards our fundraising effort, please go to www.ectopic.org.uk/fundraising/?p=46 . Thank you very much for your support. Lavinia and Steve
