Rome - ColisseumRome - ColisseumRome - Colisseum

CMurda and me
Well, what can i say- rome is nuts!!! it's way huger than i thought it would be....the traffic is like SFx20....they have all these scooters, motorbikes, and Vespas all over the city streets(i've never seen anything like it!!! they were everywhere, like swarms of bees buzzing around the taxis we rode in!!!! it looked so dangerous and nuts to drive in this town...beautiful chaos!!!)...when you ride a cab, you'd better buckle up dude!!! or watch out for your life- for real....It was so surreal though to see all these historic places- like the colliseum, Vatican City, the Sistene chapel, etc....

i have to say though, that i am over Italy and the people- they are not friendly- especially to americans. I had the most fun with other tourists and people from other places- like the group of Irish girls we met our last night in town! They loved my mother and sister. I kept coming out of the pub we were in to find them singing irish tunes/jigs with my family....they ended up dancing and singing the night away with us and we had so much fun.....Lauren Davis from San Diego included!!! had a blast girls - thank you'!!!!

also, our room at the hilton was probably the nicest hotel room i think i've ever stayed in. We thought it was a mistake that the room was for us- a 2 room suite with a view of the whole city, etc...they left us champagne, chocolates, the works....it was quite exquisite, the way a vacation should feel!

the view from the top of St. Peter's Basilica was amazing!!! i really enjoyed seeing all the sights in Rome and i even ran into an old college friend one night when we were out bumming around.....

i also have to mention that i had my 2nd dramatic episode since being in Europe...CMurda, Mo, and I were out to dinner in the city one night and i freaked out about my mom's purse after a gypsy walked by selling flowers.....she had moved it to her other side....as i was bending over looking for where it was, my chair tipped over with me in it!!! i spillt wine all over my white jacket, broke my glass and made a huge scene in front of the whole restaurant....i was so emabarrassed. the owner of the restaurant ran over thinking i was hurt and took me to the back to clean up....all my mother and sister could do was laugh at me (as they should...LIGHTEN UP P!) I couldn't wait to leave that place and forget about my episode...thank god for hotel laundry service, as they were able to fix my jacket and shirt that i thought were ruined!!!

check out the pics from rome/vatican city!

Wow!
I am soooo jealous! It looks like you all are having the best time. Can't wait to hear all about it from Betsy when she gets back, and Meg can't wait to compare notes with Mo! Be safe! :) :0 Cuzzin M
