Made it to Czech w/ no problems. Kinda going back to the Babushka thing, I was thinking I should make a video series like the "Bum Fights" but has Babushka's going at it in a steel cage match. Anyways, nobody better steal my idea.
So, the Czech image lived up to it's name, I go to the minibus shuttle booth to get a ride to my hotel and the girl working was Incredibly Beautiful!!! I said, "Hi, how are you in?" in Czech and she asked where I was from and told her the states and she asked which one, after I told her California she said she lived there for a year in Fresno... Fresno??? I asked why and she laughed and said it was quiet and small and she liked that, so after talking for a few minutes I was on my way.
I got to my "Steamboat Hotel" that was was south of Prague and was thinking like, "How the hell do I get to the town center since the metro was far away. At the reception desk I was told the placed was overbooked and just made me have a sense of naseau but was quickly relieved when they got my hotel room in the center of Prague!!! I was 5 minute away from Wencelas Square which was walking distance to everything, and it was a 4 star hotel, instead of my lowly 1 1/2. Yeah, I'm cheap, and I know it... 😊
So, score one for the Zero! I saw there was a pub crawl starting in a hour from just outside of my hotel and I cleaned up quickly and headed out. There was our guide who was 26 looked like Balcky and was pretty amusing and had a younger Australian and two older english ladies. The guide took us to a hole in the wall restaurant and I had some Goulash, it was pretty good and a good czech beer. The he took us to 3 more pubs and we sampled different types of Czech beers and it was all small pubs away from tourist. Our last stop was a Absinthe Pub that had like 30 types including one with a big beetle in the bottle, and you thought eating a worm in tequila would be something, imagine a beetle the size of your fist!!!
So, it was cool as they bring your shot of absinthe to you, light it on fire w/ a sugar cube on a spoon above and have the fire dissolve the sugar and the you shoot it after the waitress puts the flame out (i got a video of it!).
We were all a little tipsy by then and I grabbed another beer with the Australian and called it a night. Today, I saw Prague Castle and will be doing a bike tour in a little bit and then will be going to Kutna Hora tomorrow to see the Bone Church!!!
I hope all is well with everyone,
Nah Skledahno (goodbye in Czech),
Mike
