So! From the dusty temple town, to the refreshing Bay of Bengal, the home town of stone-masonry.

Beautiful beach town, a bit like a mini Goa - BUT not too commercial or touristy, nice! We arrived at midday in the sweltering heat, so all we could really concentrate on was a slow walk along the sands with the breeze to cool us! We were feeling exhausted but were soon revitalised and intrigued by an army of small black shapes, marching towards the sea......We had an idea of what it might be, but thought that would be too lucky an occurance and so ran over to see what was happening.......Our suspicions were correct, and we felt honoured to witness this rare event......These marchng creatures were infact hundreds of baby turtle hatchlings, fresh from their nest, following their instincts and heading for the sea. (We hope they're ok, they seemed so tiny heading out there into those waves!)

Dan - Next up was the torturous bit when Nic finally got to have her own suit made, Jesus Mother of mary, we were in the shop while she was seaching for the right fabric for hours, even the once dessperate to make a sale assistant, eventually got worn down and I think wanted to get shot of her!!!!, anyway night fell and yes we were still there, by the way anyone that does not know Nic, she is the most indicisive person in the world. we got there in the end, see the pic of the suit, for the fabric and the tailor to make it only cost gbp 5.00, bargain..!!!

Nic - Yeah thanks for that babe - but hey, if it was a bargain, maybe there's hope of me getting some more!!! Of course, me being me, I wasn't completely happy with it, but it's silk and sooooooooooo much cooler than anything else I've got to wear! (think I'll make a few adjustments myself!!)

The rest of our time there was spent vsiting the local rock carvings and spending a rediculous amount of money to see 2 tiny little attractions (we begruge having to pay RS250 each as a tourist, when the indian nationals are charged RS10...Rrraaarrrrggghhhh!!!)...especally when they're not very intersting!! Ok rant over now!

From here we went to Tiramula, which is one of the most important Hindu pilgrimages. Inside the temple is a deity that is very auspicious and they que for as long as 24hrs to get inside and see this and make a wish. We'd heard that as a tourist you could pay to get a fasttrack in the que, great we thought, half hour at max..........4hrs later...!!!! It wasn't normal polite English queing either, it was crammed inside a metal cage, using all arms and legs to keep your place and stop people from pushing in, with no going back!! However, we're glad we saw what the pilgrims do.

Next stop Hyderabad, after a 12hr train journey!
