After a day at THE (as I've been told) Boat Race a day at the garden was in order. So I headed off to Richmond Surrey to the Kew Gardens. Henry Moore's giant outdoor sculptures were on display. It was their last day at the Kew. It is a huge garden with lots of open space, old buildings, and children stomping on all the flowers.

This is a must see if you are into gardens. They have a shuttle service, several food courts, and a kids playground in case they still have energy. The ground was pretty mucky, and many women wore rubber boots. Don't ask, I don't know why it was primarily the women. I have started a collection of footwear shots though!

There were two downfalls at the Kew. First and fairly minor are the small cafes. The seating areas were big enough but the actual cafe was too small for the amount of traffic. The other was being under the final flight approach for Heathrow airport. Maybe one plane flew over head every 2 minutes! It was unnerving and my flat in the heart of London is quieter! I purposely took a photo of the plane ruining the shot of a tree and flowers.

The poor little ugly ducks didn't get much attention or food from the public. And the big bully swans harassed them! Poor guys.

This White house was built in the 1700's. There is nothing left, but these lines outlining the rooms, and a sundial in the middle.

Her Magistry had her birthday party here in 2006. The White House stood on this green just to my left.

There were many of these statues which were 'coats of arms' for various folk. The building is the Palm buillding, wiith a really tall (16m) palm in it.

They have a very nice garden shop with lots of plants and accessories for sale. The prices are enough to prevent me from doing more than looking!

A place for Marni
This looks like an ideal place for Marni. You'll have to take her here when she comes to visit. Side note: Why is my son's face cropped out?
