Breakfast in the Dark
Eating our breakfast on the balcony in the dark. Hi All,
Well this will be the last message, after a terrible start with the 2 hours delay that turned into a 1 ½ hour delay the day just got better….
As our first flight was late we did not make our connecting flight from Sydney to Melbourne, but QANTAS is good as always and had us on the next available flight which was the 2 pm flight to Melbourne.
We got some lunch, and settled into gate 4 to wait. Let me tell you health food from the airport is not health food.. LOL we bought some sandwiches from the health food bar, needless to say they were day old bread and soggy!
I gave up, by that stage I had had enough! I headed for the nearest McDonalds….MrC won’t eat it but I would! Turns out there is only a Hungry Jacks, so I got myself a charcoaled chicken burger, chips for both myself and MrC and headed back past the Krispy Kremes shop and back to gate 4.
For those of you who have never had a Krispy Kreme donut you don’t know what you are missing. I have been waiting for them to
come to Australia from the USA a long time, my last visit over there I bought one of their mugs to bring home with me.
The donuts are make on site as you wait…fresh and lovely. MrC wouldn’t let me get one either…..so I just had to watch all the other girls buying boxes of them to bring home with them.
Apparently Melbourne doesn’t have them yet… but they will and next time regardless I am having at least one!
As our Sydney to Melbourne flight was late I didn’t have as much time as I would have liked with my Cousin Ellen and my 1st Cousin Narelle, Ellen’s daughter but we at least did get together with them. It was great to see them, and they looked both happy and healthy. Narelle pushed our trolley to the Checkin desk for me and it made me back a lot better!
Love you girls both of you!
Ellen also gave me two mice to bring home and some other things for MrC she had collected for him.
So on to our Jetstar flight, the pilot was very good, no sudden jumps or bangs like the guy who
Last sights
Last sight of the Airport buildings. flew us into Norfolk Island, so we arrived in Launceston safe and sound.
Alice, MrC’s sister waiting for us, we went to her new house, she has shifted while we were away, out from Mowbray to a place called Travellers Rest…beautiful new house.
We had a cup of tea with her and her husband Tony and then set out in the car for home.
Took us a good 4 fours to drive home with a stop at Westbury for something to eat at Andy’s a 24 hour bakery that has really great things to eat.
I tested there strawberry fruit flan.. yummy!
We arrived home at 11pm, we unpacked the car and fell into bed. We let everything wait until we had slept!
And….as I have only just discovered…not only did I drop and damage my laptop on the train from Rooty Hill to Sydney catching the plane…..but as I got out of the car last night my digital camera slipped from the pile of things I was carrying inside and you guessed it…although it works the LCD monitor (screen) has two cracks in it. *sigh* MrC was wondering if I could also claim that on
the insurance! LOL its going to look very funny, claiming both a laptop and a digital camera! And the third thing was my mothers glass Milan lollies I had brought home for her as she has a dish of them. Pfffth at least thats 3!
