Colonia del Sacremento and Montevideo

Hola Amigos

Well we are now in Uruguay after a lovely ferry ride over on Buqebus from Buenos Aires. The bad news is there is till no sunshine and I am getting paler and paler much to my digust although Martyn doesnt appear to be to bothered!

So we arrived in Colonia on Monday, stayed in a very quiet hostel and the owner spoke no english so we got to use our very shady spanish, although its amazing how much we have both come on and how much we can understand, I think Martyn says dos cerveza por favor in his sleep now!! So what with the rain bouncng off the ground there was not much we could do so we went for a wander ate lots and decided to see the sights the next day.

It was actually fair on Tues so went down to the old town it was really nice and not to touristy at all, then Martyn spotted go Carts for rent so against my better judgement decided it could be fun! They were not really go carts more buggy things but off we went, I quickly got frustrated with being on the wrong side of road and was too scared so I let Martyn do the rest. Well Im not sure the people of Colonia were happy, he kept nearly running everyne over, dogs included I was going crazy it brought back all the driving lessons and tensions were frayed!! Had so much fun though and we were still friends at the end!! That night Martyn had us walking the whole town for hours in search of the Celtic Barcelona game, needless to say we did not find it but we did find the Arsenal game, I was just delighted!! Really enjoyed it in Colonia such a nice town if the weather had been good we could of gone to the beach!!

We got the bus to Montevideo yeserday, Uruguays capital. A usual the rain was pelting down so what did we do, ate and drank lots the2 things that can be done in any weather!! Martyn had another steak getting worried bout the amount of red meat hes consuming thse days! So off we went last night again this time in search of the Chelsea game, Im becoming a expert on all football matters! Found a great pub and Martyn found the cocktail list, never a good idea and Im sure he would agree with meon that today!! Next door we found a great wee Irish bar and Martyn got to have a pint he was delighted although the pouring was hilarious the head was about 4 inches! Had a great night met lots of people it was a long overdue night of drunkeness. Today has been aright off Martyns a bit tender but we are planning to head to Mercado de Puerto for MORE steak very soon!

So we are off to Punta Del Este tommorrow as weather.com assures me this rain is going to stop on Sat and give me days of sunshine! So I want to ready on the beach for it and hopefully get anothr few nights out!

lisa you aren't getting my emails. i can't find your clothes where did you put them. i will have sent 3 emails since we got home and i am worried as you think i have sent the clothes. get back to me as soon as poss. great to hear all fine and you are keeping up with all your pastimes ie. drinking, eating and watching football!!! speak soon love mumxxx
