Finally, we’re back on the road! Yea!

Busy morning of packing and making breakfast and a zillion egg salad sandwiches. If this trip has done anything for me, it’s make eggs less appealing to eat. We left the church almost 3 hours after the kids, so we just sort of hung out with the staff there. Good times.

Then we hit the road. Just Beth, Sarah and I in the van. Background: when I was little, I NEVER slept in the car. Now, it seems I’m in the car 7 seconds and I’m out! We were listening to “Wait, Wait, Don’t Tell Me” and I was texting some friends, and I put me feet up and leaned back and I remember trying really hard to stay awake, but no dice. I figured my phone would vibrate and wake me up, but no such luck. I woke up when we were exiting to the airport and hit a rumble strip. As Sarah put it, “Jami, you leaned back and you were out!”

We picked up Anne and Harriet at the airport in Little Rock, making us 5 in the car. (I call back middle, with my feet on the hump!) Arkansas is flat and fairly boring, at least what I saw of it. And not overly pretty in February, either. I did get my book finished, finally.

And what we learned about today: nuclear power plants.

We arrived in Fayetteville just in time for dinner. The Catfish Hole was recommended to us by the receptionists, and I would recommend it also. I’m not much of a fish eater, but I did try some, and still wasn’t too impressed. But the atmosphere was great and the food was good.

Relationships are slowly deepening, I think. Rachel seems to be more comfortable around me, making her more outgoing. Sarah and I always have some good laughs, plus we can reminisce about home.

Load in at ridiculously early tomorrow. 7, yuck! But it’s a beautiful venue, and really big and seemingly on top of things, so it should go smoothly. I added some things to my advance calls, so hopefully things will be better set up for our arrival.

advancing the show.
Have you set up the advance the way you want? Do you give yourself enough time? Naps are always good. Mom was right about that naptime. Love ya Dave
