Benos Aires
Street Traffic After Trajillo we spent some time in Huaraz, 3056 m above sea level, probably the highest we´ve been yet. Surrounded by white mountains it was pretty spectacular. After much deliberation of how the rest of our trip was going to go, we bought flights from Lima (Peru) to Buenos Aires to stay for a few days and another flight from Buenos Aires to Salta. (From Salta we will go into Bolivia and then back into Peru.) Have a look on a map...it´s quite a stretch!
So we arrived in Buenos Aires on Tuesday the 12th to something a bit different to what we´ve usually been staying in. It is a hostel, with rooms around a courtyard, on two levels, painted green and yellow. There is a kitchen, outside loos and showers, a piano, a television, a place where people relax outside of their rooms. You can help yourself to tea, bread and jam, chat to random people, drink beer or have free Tango lessons. The people who run it are great aswell. Believe it or not this is NOT a review.
I really like this city. Although big and busy, it is filled with the most exotic and wonderful
trees, green parks, waterways, rose gardens, fountains and of course, beautiful and elegant people.
For lunch on the first day, we walked into probably one of the nicest restaurants we had seen for a long time. We both had steak which was cooked beautifully, and salad, a typical Argentinian dish. It does make a huge difference if you eat nice food with a waiter that is pleasant...
The last two days we have been exploring the underground to different parts of the city, walking in the parks and rowing. Yes, today we took out a rowing boat which was good fun!
