Officially leaving today!!!! :D

This is it!!! I am officially leaving for Africa... today!!! The bags are fiiiinally all packed and ready to fly. I feel like I've been preparing for this day for so long, I honestly can't remember what I did with my time before I decided to go to Ghana. Although this past month at home has been really stressful (made so with the minor freak-outs of my two loving parents), I'm really glad that I had the time to chill and get ready to go. But I've been home for so long now that it's like I'm leaving home for the first time to go to college all over again... which honestly, really isn't an experience I am overly anxious to repeat. Having Shane, (my boyfriend) who is also studying abroad with me, here for the past week has really been wonderful. He's been working round the clock to keep me as sane as possible. Poor guy.

Alright, well, tomorrow is a big day. Waking up at 7:30am in hopes of having a leisurely, semi stress-free morning. Plane leaves around 4pm tomorrow and arrives in Accra around 4pm (US time), which is about 9pm Ghana time. But right now I am basically as tired as humanly possible while still retaining acceptable motor skills, so I'm going to head out. I absolutely promise to make my next blog more interesting. I swear. lol

Lauren, my away message today was dedicated to you (thinking today was the 6th..not the 5th...?) giving you a farewell and encouraging you to tear it up and WALK REALLY FAST in Africa! I really can't wait to hear all about it! Think of me when you're looking down from an elephants back or making friends with all the monkeys....(make an effort to let me know what REALLY goes on in Africa...because I feel as though I have a misconstrued idea.) lol I love you!
