Up bright and early on Sunday after last nights exciting game and hit the road to Foley in Alabama and The Outlet Mall...for those of you wo don't know what an Outlet Mall is it is a huge shopping centre with a lot of the name brands like Polo, Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger etc have discount shops and you can often pick up some real bargains.

Leaving Mobile there is a Battleship Memorial Park for the USS Alabama Robert would have really liked stopping here but the outlet mall was calling...we arrived at Foley at about 11am and shopped and shopped and shopped...at about 4pm I was all shopped out but I had "lost" Ian, he was with me about 10 minutes ago. Ian had the phone so I went to the car but he was not there...so the only thing I could think of was to go to Customer Service and report him lost. She suggested that I use their phone and ring him but I did not know our number so I rang Robert in New Orleans to text Ian to meet me at the car!!! Robert had a real good laugh. Turns out he was in the shop next to the one where I last saw him talking!!! how unusual for him to be talking.

That night we stayed just outside of Pensacola which is in Florida...next morning we drove to Orlando, Home of DisneyWorld, Seaworld, Wet & Wild... almost like being home only bigger much bigger. The weather was very brisk, lovely in the car, blue sky and sunshine but cold. You can see by the picture those white lines in the sky are actually the vapour trails left by the planes flying out of Orlando.

When we got to Orlando we had to decide where we were going to stay. I had picked up a discount accomodation booklet when we stopped for fuel. Going through al the options one stood out...freee cooked breakfast (Ian happy) plus free cocktails from 5pm to 7pm every night (Irene happy). So we decided that was the one for us...luckily it was not too hard to find, checked in at 5:30 so took our bag to the room and then headed down for the cocktails. Walked into the bar and heard a voice saying "what are you guys doing here?" It was The Thompson's from Mudgeeraba Paul is a ref on Tuesday nights when Ian plays. We knew they were in Baton Rouge as their son plays at a High School there, but had no idea that they were in Orlando... Also with them was their son's girlfriend Kim Manson...Kate used to swim with her older sister Natasha at PBC.

After drinks we went out for dinner and a bit of an explore around the neighbourhood to discover some interesting "restaurants" apparently the 'World's largest Macdonalds"and they had a very unusual menu the usual stuff plus pasta, sandwiches, yummy desserts, coffee and more. The other interesting one was Cici's... all you can eat pizza and a bit of pasta and salad brownies and apple & cinnamon pizza yum yum for $5.99...heaps better than Pizza Hut

Tomorrow we are heading off to Disney World Epcot Centre....
