Coach Carr
We have matching shirts and matching receding hairlines. I now see why Michigan can't win a bowl game. They spoil the players silly. This year I'm down in Orlando with the Michigan football team enjoying almost all the benefits of playing football for Michigan. We met at Schembechler Hall (the football building on campus) on Christmas day and headed towards a private hanger at Metro Airport. We boarded our PRIVATE 747 which took the team, staff, coaches, and their families down to Orlando. Had everyone flow on this flight, it would have been full. However many players opted to fly from other parts of the country. Our plane was maybe 2/3 full. So when a 747 is that empty, some people get several seats to themselves. After we took off, we were served a delicious meal of steak and red skin potatoes. I laid down after in my own row and slept until we landed in Orlando. We were greeted by six motor-coaches and a police escort which took us to our hotel about 15 minutes away from stadium where we will play on January 1st. Of course there was a huge sit down meal waiting for us when we got to our hotel. By the time we were
done eating, the bellmen had brought our bags to our rooms and before we could say "ohio sucks", we were in the hot tub sipping on drinks.
We are staying at the Peabody, a hotel which is famous for using ducks for everything. They have duck butter at meals, duck body soap in the showers, duck on the menu at the restaurant, even real ducks wonder around the lobby. Every day at 11am they march ducks from their little house out to the lobby and let them enjoy the day basking in some sort of duck glory. It is ridiculous. Everyday we have practice at a High School which is about 15 minutes away. With our police escort, we make it there in about five. I love having a police escort everywhere we go, I would not mind having one everywhere I go from now on.
Being in Orlando is pretty nice. There is no beach, but other that that I really have no complaints. I have everything given to me, there is a giant pool at the hotel, and it is in the mid 80s! The one thing we do not get down here it dinner. However
Our Police Entourage
Everywhere we go...THE POLICE FOLLOW US!! because they don't serve us dinner every night, they gave us a check for $225 to cover that. Yesterday the whole team went to Universal Studios, and today we went to Disney. Both were crazy, there were a ton of people! There is a guy in charge of transportation for the team, and he told us that yesterday 78,000 people were at the Magic Kingdom. That is where we went today. We rode one ride, and then just walked around taking in the craziness that is Disney. I don't think I want to bring my kids there until they can appreciate the whole park, and until they stop whining about waiting in lines. The holiday season is probably the worst time to go to these parks. We stayed for a few hours yesterday, and today we stayed for two hours. It was fun to walk around and have everyone point at you because they think you are part of the team. I'm not even close to looking like a football player, but every time some one wishes my luck or takes my picture thinking I'm not looking, I enjoy it.
We went to the stadium on the 31st to
Coach English
When I didn't the the job back in February, Coach English pulled some strings for me and got me in. take the team photo. After, we spent about 30 minutes on the sidelines taking pictures with players and coaches. I got a picture with Lloyd and a bunch of the players. I also got one with Coach English. I'm not happy that they are not bringing him back. One because I think he is a great coach and recruiter. But also because he got me this job. He came to Michigania the past couple of summers and I was able to have him on a couple of lessons. When we were chatting two summers ago, it came up that I wanted to be a manager for the football team. He said he would make it happen, and he did. We stayed in touch over the next year. When I interviewed for the job, I was told I would not b hired because I was a senior. Well... Ron made some calls and pulled some strings. Next thing I knew I was at Michigan's practice grinning from ear to ear. I've had a blast this season. For me, it was a perfect way to go out. I had three classes this semester so I was not too busy. I guess I
wish we had a better season, but in retrospect, I still had a blast!
So we are 10.5 point underdogs, but I think we have a good chance. Lloyd has some tricks up his sleeve...hopefully he will use some of them. We have not one a bowl game since I was in high school, but I hear that if we win, the whole team goes out on the first and it is a great time. With the coaches not having jobs at Michigan anymore, I'm sure they would join us! GO BLUE!

I'm a little confused...what team do you work for again? I can't seem to figure it out from this.
