Had the day from hell yesterday - my first bus was cancelled (allegedly, I think it was just the Greyhound staff being as unhelpful as usual and not bothering to check properly), so had 5 hours sat in Port Authority bus station until my replacement bus at 10. This meant I didn't get to my hotel in Cleveland until 11 and all I ate all day was a Snickers and a packet of crisps, which I don't think covers any of my 5 a day.

Annoyingly because I was so tired I slept in until half 11 this morning, so wouldn't have as much time to do stuff as I'd hoped. The key thing though was to get to the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame, which is based in Cleveland rather than anywhere cool because that's where the term was first coined apparently. The museum was great, the exhibits covered all aspects of rock and its roots in blues, bluegrass, jazz and gospel. The stuff on the inductees was a bit hit and miss, with the good (Dylan, the Clash, the Stones, Springsteen), the bad (Led Zeppelin, the Who, the Beatles, Clapton) and the ugly (Michael Jackson, Van Halen) all with stuff on display. Highlight for me though was finding an exhibit on Joy Division & New Order, a bit out of place amongst the other rock heavyweights, but a pleasant surprise. I also now have a list of new bands I need to check out, so if anyone wants to buy me any Big Star, Flying Burrito Brothers or Richard Hell albums, I'd be most grateful.

After about 6 hours in the museum and shop (where I could have bought a whole ton of crap), I went to a bar for dinner recommended in my book, which was absolutely rammed because it's by the ice hockey stadium and it was a game night. Got out of there as quickly as I could and went back to the hotel to watch TV on my own, a luxury I've not had for a couple of weeks now. Anti social I know, but when there's stuff as ground breaking as Everyone Loves Raymond on, I think I can be excused. And yes, I'm being sarcastic and I actually hate Raymond with a passion.

You are such a f*cking philistine...
How can you rate Dylan and Springsteen and yet slate Led Zeppelin, the Who, the Beatles, Clapton etc?? Are you a redneck is disguise?

Led Zeppelin wrote 5 hour long songs full of wanky guitar solos, the Who have a paedophile on guitar, Clapton is a racist and the Beatles sang rubbish about Octopi under the sea and hippy crap like Strawberry Fields. Nuff said.

What!?
Just getting round to reading this Jon Peache and you are such a music Nazi. I bet you were overjoyed to find that Joy Division corner - the only thing better would have been the Bright Eyes naughty step. Zeppelin rule. Van Halen rule. Eric 'Slowhand' Clapton rules.
