We're now in Zambia - arrived here last Thursday via a 41hour train journey from Dar...epic! The journey went well, except for hitting a woman who was on the tracks...who unfortunately didn't survive - we're not quite sure why she was on the tracks, or why she didn't hear the train coming and move out the way, but anyway, caused quite a commotion for a short time.
On the brighter side, we met some other travellers from UK, Australia, Canada etc, so were able to chat to them and find out where they've been/where they're going - good to have other people to spend time with, and not have to struggle with the language.
Currently staying with Claire's uncle and aunt in a white farming area in Mkushi - lots of black and white Zambians around - it's very nice not being the only Muzungu (white person) around and not getting hassled!
Here until Wednesday, and then heading to Lusaka.
