Well, this might be our last entry for a little while as we're about to embark on our maiden journey across the Nullabor..starting when we turn off this computer!
From our stay in Adelaide (thanks for having us Carl & Mazz!!) we headed up to Barossa for a couple of days of solid wine tasting. We almost got some work up there for a week or so, but alas there was a delay in the vines being delivered, so instead we drank our livers to death and moved on.
From there we headed on down the Yorke Peninsula....or THE GUMBOOT OF AUSTRALIA as we now call it!! Sorry to anyone who loves the place, but we hated it!! Flies, wind, dust, flies, hayfever, flies, and ONLY ONE WINERY!!!! It didn't help that we also lost our awning during severe winds and were stuck in the hole...er place...for an extra week. The minute we turned back onto the highway west the sun came out and the clouds buggered off.....so we headed straight to the nearest hotel and woke up with a hangover at midday the next day. Needless to say we didn't cover much ground the following day! We camped at Telowie

Gorge in the Southern Flinders Ranges (not far from Port Pirie) which was just awesome. The trees, blue skies and mountains were a welcome change indeed.
Next we headed around the water and onto the start of the Eyre Peninsula.
Then a CAT-ASTROPHE struck!! We discovered an abscess on Oscar and paid an emergency Saturday morning visit to Whyalla Vets. Luckily they got us in pretty quickly and after a flush out and 2 injections and a bag full of antibiotics (it took 3 of us to hold him down while the vet did this mind you) we were back on the road with a BUCKET HEAD. Yes, just when you thought that living in a bus with two cats was a challenge, try living with one of them with a frigging bucket on!! Of course Bailey was willing to lick the wound coz Oscar couldn't reach it, so CHALLENGE #3...keep them seperated. Are you kidding??? How do you seperate cats in a bus???
Anyway, it's healing up well and we all survived the experience.
While we were visiting the vet one hell of a wind/dust storm blew up outside so from Whyalla right down the coast we couldn't even

get out of the bus. First thing we did was find a little van park and hole up for 2 days until it blew over. It was easier that way anyway as we had to wash Oscar's abscess twice day at that stage so running water was essential.
We headed down the bottom of Eyre, past Port Lincoln (nice place!) and camped on the beach for the next few days. The weather was great, cool, no wind and we enjoyed it immensely. The drive up the west coast was really nice too, some really awesome cliffs that have been eaten away by the wind & sea. We expect to see much more of that across the Nullabor when we get to the bight.
We spent a couple of days in Streaky Bay and caught up on all our washing etc and here we are today in Ceduna, doing last minute shopping, banking etc before we hit the road for the Nullabor.
Next time you hear from us we will be W.A. residents, so until then....
