mitch bought this picture from some guy out of the back of a van on the street. It makes me laugh every time I look at it...A 30 year old who served 3 years in the Israeli army, A Chinese business women, a Teachers Assistant from France and two mostly drunk and ignorant Canadians. It sounds like the start of a bad and probably racist joke but it is a description of the inhabitants of #4 Beechwood Grove. Things are looking up in every way not related to teaching children. Mitch and I attended a potluck supper with really smart translation masters students, we participated in a night of extreme hedonism at a school boy and girl themed party at the university (I'll spare you the details, all thats important is no one got hurt), we took salsa dancing lessons with the Leeds University Christian Union, We watched as a van destroyed our neighbour's 400 year old brick fence (the van belonged to one of our room mates), we went to a pub quiz where all they served was tea, we had several dance parties in our bedrooms to the sweet Caribbean vibes of Mitch's cell phone, we saw the new Guy Ritchie film Revolver, last night we went drinking with our new roommates... and the weekend is upon us.
On the flip side we have yet to teach at all and are registering with more teaching companies. Also, a spastic and possibly dangerous Canadian teacher is staying with us until she finds a place to live, which is soon hopefully (though I am using her lap top right now).
The sun is starting to come out again...
