A progressive paradise! How inspiring to learn of Portland's progressive ways--I immediately went to Portland, craigslist to check out rentals. What a fantastic holiday you had there--music, museums and Kambucha, fab pizza, Tillamook, and beer that could even convert this Californian wine-drinker. Your little Stumpy sounds like a fab traveler--congrats! Maybe I'll see you there someday.
So Courageous! Chaperoning a group of high schoolers on holiday--I'm impressed. I used to teach history at a city college where my mentor told me that if I reached one student, I'd succeeded (pretty depressing advise). However, best wishes on transforming a few of your charges into proper travel nerds who'd choose a museum over McDonalds. And I love your line about being a socialist at a gentle McCarthyite school--tricky when you teach history!
Tour trip Thanks for share information related to tour and travel. In this blog include all old and new place with real image. Really some image are very attractive.

And if you want to visit Lhasa, Tibet was one of the most exciting life experiences.
I would recommend it to those able to respect cultural boundaries, and willing to explore the richness and beauty of the indigenous people.
Find more about Tibet ,welcome to visit www.accesstibettravel.com.
Nice Blog I enjoyed reading your blog... a great perspective on the traveling community. It's nice to finally read something with substance. I rarely read stuff on this website nowadays, because a lot of blogs being published on travelblog are rather quite off-putting. I'm really surprised that they even get published on the front page. Travelblog became a dumping site for bloggers who love to whinge and write really offensive blogs about the countries they visit.
Welcome to the Front Page. :) Impressive photos. I gave a few of them a rating of 5. I dont know how some people manage to capture such good images. I have never had an eye for that. :)
strange to see bad pics , Krakow is one of the nicest town in Europe like Praha, Rome or Paris. Sure it's sad to see all the drunk english everywhere who do all it's forbidden in their country.. no comment. Strange stag are no in London...
Hey, too early for the rocking chair! Been missing your blogs ( i traveled with u guys through reading up all your blogs). But pls, don't hang up your gloves just yet. Too early for you. If you do, I'd feel so jaded and ancient. Take a break, rest up your walking legs if you will , but yes, do South America!!!
Thoughts Sept 7, 2009 at 3am I love you guys. Right now it is 3am after Nichole and Shawn's wedding. Regina has a heart and soul big enough to sustain you both for a while. I am glad we are sort-of-neighbours. We will sustain you with blender drinks and card games as long as you both will tolerate us. Together we (us 4) can work on making "Heritage" a fabulous place to live. But for now I have to help finish the keg. Love you both...I hope this chilly city can hold you for awhile because you make it absolutley phenominal! my heart and home anytime good friends!
Desert Princess Hey! Greetings from a displaced Canadian! I loved checking out your images and reliving my Oman trip. My hard drive wasn't backed up and it died, taking with it to the eternal black hole ALL of my images from that trip! Major bummer. Anyway, nice to see other peeps having fun in the sun and acting delirious!
Aloha, Shirley!
Wish I was there I'm finally getting around to reading your new entry and yet another gooder. It brings back so many smells of spice and fabric sweat for some reason. If you want to go back, let me know, I would love for you to be my tour guide...ha ha. I especially liked the bath part.
Can't Believe I Missed Your Blogs.... Just stumbled upon this blog and I think I have the next few days full, catching up on your (and others I found) blogs. I always enjoy the human interest side of story telling, like a bonus to picking up a few travel tips. Keep writing!
I am so glad the pictures provided a conclusion to the boot mission, I was desparate to know if it all worked out in the end! I am happy it did. Boot shopping can be challenging and dangerous. Good work girls.
Ships of the Desert Crossing in the Night yo, nice article! i was in morocco from 19/12-26/12 and drove from casablanca along the coast to agadir, then to marrakech and finally merzouga on the edge of the sahara, before returning through marrakech. my photos are at my facebook account, which i can't link to in this post but am happy to share. i enjoyed your photos and write-up. congrats on a fun holiday and fun for those that didn't make it!
Previously: Moved to England to teach high school english- gave up, quit and left for round the world trip. Traveled through the Middle East, SE Asia, Australia, NZ, and Fiji prior to arriving back home to Canada. Spent the next school year trying desperately to be the cool substitute teacher who tells stories of wild adventures and remembers what it was like to be a teenager... Failed miserably. Lived and worked in Valencia Spain with my girlfriend (now wife!) Dennie for 2 years, and taught highschool drama. After a year teaching Grade 7/8 at a community school, I now teach high school histo... full info
