so farrr

leaving the cloudy sea side towns behind we headed north, first stop was La Serena a pretty town.. not a lot todo so we booked our coack}h for the nesxt day! it was an over night 20 hour drive !! lucky it had pretty fat seats much better then any in SE Asia but it was more expensive..

after a night of ear popping and poor sleep we woke up in the desert.. nothing but desert and blue sky.. now about 2000ft above sea level it was much hotter and the air was alot thinner.

by 12 we reached San Pedro a small town of about 5000 built in an oasis.. the atacama desert is the driest desert on earth but they do get rain! even though its suny for 340 days a year they get an annual rain fall of 18mm! thats the most they ever get! a year...

its a beautifull old town all the buildings are made of adobe (clay) and none over two stories! its surrounded by mountains salt flats and deserts..

we took a trip out to see the lunar valley.. a large area of sand rocks mountains.. etc.. named so because of its resemblance to mars and the moon. it was a cool trip and the view were pretty breath taking its hard to get the enormous size of everything across in the pictures..

i have a lot more photos but the net here is so slow i cant bring myself to sit here for that long!

this is our last stop in Chile! its been an awesome country and weve rocked out pretty hard here!

but

next is Boliviar! and i cant wait theres so much to see! and everything goes back to being super cheap ! which is definatly needed!
