Machu Picchu
Finally arrived We have just completed the four day trek of the "Inca Trial" with Llama Path - The link has the full intinary - http://www.llamapath.com/incatrail.htm
The Llama Path guides (Alex and Santiago) were brillant, they knew everything about the incas and were very supportive when times were tough! We decided to carry our own bags (Paul said it would be cheating to hire a porter!), but in total we had 15 porters that carried tents, food, stoves, tables, chairs etc...). Each porter carried 28kg on his back, and could be seen running the inca trail to sent up for lunch or the camp site in the evening - they worked unbelievably hard -some even did it in sandles!
When we signed up for the inca trail we thought we would be roughing it for four days, this was partly true (no showers, camping etc...) but Llama Path provided us with four courses for lunch and dinner, they woke us up in the morning with coca tea and bowls of hot water and soap bread jam hot chocolate biscuits pancakes etc etc.. it was like a mobile restaurante!
The trek was HARD - the altitude was a killer but the
well worth it especially when we arrived at the new 7th wonder of the world - Machu Picchu.

Inca trail
Just read about the inca Trail sounds very hard but fantastic. Did you manage to carry your bag all the way or did you get Paul to help you? It look cold at night with your hats on in the tent but warm in the day or was the body heat from all the hiking. What did they cook you to eat? Just wondering if you have had guinea pig yet.
