If there is a will, theres a wayIf there is a will, theres a wayIf there is a will, theres a way

yeah, no room, no problem, you think a small space is going to stop an italian from parking, i think not... and yeah i dont know what im doing there
Its difficult to start one of these entries when its been a couple of days. Im trying to remember what i wrote last and then fill in the gaps. Well, friday night we went with the quinns and some of the girls from the other apartment to a chinese restaurant really near our house. I had some chicken and veggies and it was very good and pretty cheap, but im getting really tired of paying for water. I guess im just spoiled, i love myself some endless free tap water when i eat out. Then we went and got some gelato...again. I will be sweating gelato before i leave, that night however my stomach started to hurt, the chinese was not settling well, i just took some medicine and i was fine after a good nights sleep. then saturday morning i woke up early and started some laundry.. thats right, i think we finally figured out the washing machine, now it takes over 2 hours just to wash a pair of jeans and a couple of shirts, and i hate air drying clothes b/c it leaves them all stiff, im sorry italians, its the 21st century, its time you caught up

and learn the wonderful modern appliances such as the dryer, laura and i kinda just chilled at the apartment that morning and early afternoon doing the laundry while the other girls slept, they got in a little late, then laura and i went for a little walk, we went along the river and found this booth that was selling beautiful glass jewelry the guy was making right there, ofcourse i fall in love with the most expensive piece he is offering, it was a beautiful blue glass bead on a silver chain, i loved it, speaking of jewelry, our two italian guy friends have been giving all four of us a nice little collection of jewelry including a beautiful necklace, bracelet and earrings, they work at a jewelry place so im sure they get them cheap, but its still super sweet, i love them, they are so nice, its difficult to have a really good conversation with them, one cant speak english like at all and he always has tons and energy, yeah he can be overwhelming, the other one can speak english but he still has trouble with some words, sat. night we met the other group at a

little restaurant near their place, laura and i shared some tirimasu, it was delicious, best i have ever had, then we headed for the spanish steps, it looks so far away on the map but it really wasnt a long walk, when you get near the steps you walk by the really expensive clothing stores including chanel, gucci, max mara, just to name a few, god, i wanted everything i saw, i saw the most gorgeous chanel dress, i guess i could just completely blow my budget, buy the dress and never leave the apartment and never eat again, atleast i would have my plane ticket home and a beautiful dress to wear on the way, the steps were such a lively area, tons of people walking around, we climbed to the top and actually saw a fireworks show off in the distant, it was really beautiful, sunday morning the four of us met up with the quinns for sunday mass, yep, first time i have ever been to catholic mass and i go in italy, i didnt understand a word they were saying, it was interesting though, a good experience, then we went to a little cafe nearby and

laura and i finally made it to the arch of constantine for the tour of the collesseum to find out it was cancelled
had some coffee, i really enjoy the quinns, i have so much fun with them, well, we just finished class for today, i think we are going to take it easy tonight, we have so much planned for the week, including pompeii on friday, im really excited about that, so hopefully ill have more so say later on, anyways, ciao!!

Well, I'm glad things are going so fine for you. You didn't say how much the dress was. Who knows? Well, while you're having so much fun in Rome, I'm in Hattiesburg, Miss., helping the local paper get out after Hurricane Katrina blew through. Gannett sent me and is paying all my expenses. The local paper is a Gannett paper. Glad your apartment is nice. I'm having to share a motel room with other journalists and sleep on the floor. Also, it took 4 restaurants last night before we found one that hadn't run out of food. The town is swamped with evacuees and peple coming from all over the country to help. The motel did have to throw some of the rescue workers out, but before they left they trashed the rooms and cut the phone lines. Some help, huh? Have fun and keep the blogs coming.
