Touchdown in Thailand

Hello Everyone....how are we all enjoying life wherever you are and whatever you are doing.

Well went to the departure gate and then all of a sudden I was facing the reality of what I was doing....Boarded the plane fantastic aisle seat spare seat next to me and a great girl from Belfast who was going to Oz by herself so lots to chat about fear excitment etc.

Anyway Bangkok arrival. Problem number one occurs bag lost but only for the night it was waiting for me in the hotel reception the following morning so great going there.

Pattaya is located 2 hours south of Bangkok so the journey down was ok falling in and out of sleep in the car whcih was on Air Con crazy and it was like a fridge had to put a fleece on!

Arrived first night checked into my temp hotel then had to go out and have a little explore but just had some food!! noddles pork and egg 30 pence!!!.

First actual day went to the dive shop and met the guys there and was soon happy with things so decided to pledge my money and time to Mermaid Diving that eveing hooked up with soem great guys and went to a local bar in Jomtiem as that is where we are not actually in Pattaya and had a few beers and just chatted and relaxed.

So the second day was my first diving day just recreational as I am not starting any courses as yet well give that a week or so and just get back in the water and practise my skills first.

After the days diving was issued with my keys for my "home" for the next 4-5 months.

Well tommorow diving again will speak to you all soon and hopefully maybe see a couple of people soon also.

Hey Bruce. Glad you arrived safely. Don't forget to give me a bell while you are in Oz. I will be there after Jan 10th. Would be great to catch up! My Dad is diving on the recently sunk ship in Mooloolaba this week so I will let you know what it was like. Have fun!
