Fortress
This is the fortress near Jesus House Saturday is our day off. We got to sleep in until 8:00 then had breakfast. After breakfast, we had out PT (personal time with God). I went across the street and tried to have my time by the fountain but it was a little too chilly for me so half way through I came back inside. Then we had praise and worship time followed by information regarding our mountain trip. We have to pack our own food for the trip and will be cooking our food up there. It sounds like it is going to be very beautiful. I had to go buy what Norwegians call "super underwear." It is like long johns but made of wool. Then we took a walking tour of the city. We walked down by the fortress and along the harbor. It was crowded because of the Fjords Festival. Then we walked to the Royal Palace and saw the changing of the guard. After that, we continued our walk down the main street in Oslo. There are a bunch of shops and outdoor cafes. I also spotted a lion statue. We ended our walk by the train station. Another American who has been here 2.5 years
took a few of us up to the top of the Radisson for a view of the city. From there we went to a part of the city with fresh produce that happens to be in the Muslim community. Then I went back and took a nap followed by dinner. That night we started at 8pm and each of us shared our testimony of how we came to Christ and how we came to Jesus Revolution. Half way through we had a break and had pancakes (which were like what we would think of as French crepes) with ice cream. Then we continued the testimonies ending at 12:30 am. It was really amazing to hear all of these young people and the passion they have for God. It is so real and sincere. It is no wonder they are having such an impact on those around them. I wish I had been that way when I was 18, 19, and 20 but at least I am here now. It helped me to hear all of them because honestly after speaking with my mom & dad the past couple of days I was really missing home (I know I haven't been
Harbor View
In the distance you can see islands and sailboats. here long but especially during off time it was kind of getting to me - it's much better when I am too busy to think about things). Sunday we can sleep as late as we want and don’t have anything scheduled until 2 and then an early dinner at 3 then church at 5. I think I may try to explore the city a little on my own and maybe take some pictures. Thank y'all for all of your words of encouragement! You all mean so much to me and I miss you!
