I mixed up the dates somehow. It's incredible how you are actually loosing track of what day it is. If I would be sailing around the world for a while I would not even know which year we have after a while :-)

The wind got very strong over the night and in the morning when I got u we had wind speeds up to 35 knots, which is beaufort 7 and that was IN the harbour, leeward of a mountain. Captain Ted and John had sent me some SMS telling me about 5m waves outside and after doublechecking that in the internet I found that the wind was 6-8 Bft and the waves were 2.5m - which is looking like 5m. With this conditions it would have been stupid and irresponsible to go out with an unexperienced crew so we decided to make this day a harbour day. Especially the girls were happy about that 

So the other skipper, Richy, had the idea to rent some Quads and they rented 4 quads and some motor roller (don’t know how to say that in English) and “the gang” was born. They were going all over the island while I tried to use the first time off and get some sleep after 4 days with less than 5 hours each.
But after a while the “Balkan boys” came back and picked me up with a Quad to make a ride to the beach. At first we missed a turnoff and drove right into a huge private property…that is 3 guys with Quads with roaring engines and wild looks. An older women - apparently the owner - appeared and she was incredibly friendly. Instead of shouting at us or turning us away she asked what we were looking for and even offered us her private beach!!! Can you believe that? However it was a rocky beach and we wanted some sand so after some talking we left and finally found the right place. The water was warm and salty and we did another series of pictures under water.
We met the other 12 in the evening back at the boats and they had eaten already so it was again the Balkan boys and me going for a really great dinner with a nice waiter. At the end we even got free dessert with ice cream, water melon and some
feetfeetfeet

The annual international conference of the organization "feets and more". This year the motto was "Should the hair on feet be shaved". We made this astonishing shot right in the middle of an argue about feet without and with socks...
special Greek stuff like a caramelized soft cake (Karamel Grieskuchen) and that although the boys only had something very small as their main dish. Great! I must say we met more friendly and interesting people on this small island (Syros) then before. I forgot that woman in the small supermarket who sold me a huge inflatable dolphin for 1 Euro because it had a small (fixed!) hole which I had not even seen! And I did some body workout with the Balkan boys (yes, again. I almost feel like a third Balkan boy :D).
After dinner we all took the quads and rollers and went to a beach bar - it was fun riding in the night.

When we cam back at 2 a.m. (we never go to bed before and I am always the first) I had 2 different weather reports. One said we would get 22 to 26 knots of wind, the other one had a gale warning with 28 to 38 knots so maybe we must stay in this harbour another day?
