Shopping
Jon, Camille and Melanie Shopping at Fortnums We have all been very busy in London since the Nevin’s family and Derek have arrived. We have been having so much fun. Jon and I met up with our friends Jen and Dan from home and checked out the British Museum. This is a very great place to see mummies and artifacts from Egypt and from lots of other amazing places. We saw the Rosetta stone there too. We said goodbye to Jen and Dan because they were off to the Tower of London, which Jon and I had already seen last year. We headed to the National Gallery. This is now my favorite museum in London. The oil paintings from the Dutch artists were truly beautiful. Then later that night Camille, Melanie, Jeff, Jordan, Derek, Jon and I went to the theatre to see Spamalot. This was absolutely hysterical. We all laughed and laughed. Spamalot is done from the Monte Python movie and it is great.
Yesterday, Jon and I stopped into Harrod’s and then headed to the Tate Modern gallery. We had lunch on the top of the 7th floor overlooking the Thames. We saw some fantastic modern art such as Andy Warhol and Matisse. Last
The British Museum
The British Museum night we all went to the Globe theatre to see Shakespeare’s Merchant of Venice. We sat in Camille’s box and really enjoyed the play. The theatre is open to the outside in the center and it poured rain during the performance. The theathre was packed and everyone really enjoyed the play.
Today is our last day in London before we head to Croatia tomorrow. Camille, Melanie, Jeff, Jordan and Derek are going to Copenhagen to catch a cruise and Jon and I head to Dubrovnik. I can’t wait. Hopefully, I will be able to continue the travel blog. The hotels that we have booked in Croatia look really fantastic so I hope they will have internet access. Until, then much love.
