Dubrovnik Airport
Dubrovnik Airport We left rainy and cold London yesterday to arrive here to beautiful HOT and sunny Croatia. We flew from Gatwick to Dubrovnik on British Airways. When we arrived in Dubrovnik we were pleasantly surprised how sunny and hot it was about 33C or 91F. We read in the Frommer’s guide to take a bus into the center of old town which we did. The Croatians use Kuna for their money and it is about 5 Kuna to the dollar so our money goes a long way. This is a nice change from London. We took a cab to our hotel, The hotel Neptune. The hotel is very modern and nice and a short bus ride to old town. Once we got settled we went to the old walled city. It is so beautiful with all of the red tiled roofs and stone. The old town has a wall and a moat all the way around the city. There is a wooden draw bridge that you cross to get into the little city. We walked around the old little streets had a lovely dinner in one of the squares and some yummy gelato.

On the bus to Old Town Dubrov our hotel overlooking the ocean. The Adriatic Sea is so clear and beautiful. The weather is Hot but there is a wind that blows and keeps everything nice. The bus to old town is so packed and hot. Once we got to old town today we hiked up the stairs to walk around the wall. The walk is a couple of miles and takes an hour or so and is well worth it. The wall lines the whole city and there are incredible views everywhere you turn. We had lunch and a pivo (beer) in the little harbor area and came back to our hotel to relax.
