getting here was an experience. i got up at 5 am to get the 6 am bus from victoria station which is a ten minute tube ride away. only to find tha tubes dont start running until 6am. DILEMMA. caught a taxi there, the guy ripped me off becaus he drove away before i got all my change. how rude. the bus ride was uneventful and Greg was waiting at the station.

Monday

monday was fantastic. i spent the day watching Birmingham First XI playing cricket. Greg scored a half century and carried his team through but the game was eventually abandoned due to poor weather.
caught up with George and Sandra that night and watched Pearl Harbour on Gregs projector and Bose sound system. dad, forget the LCD or plasma tv. get one of these.

Tuesday

went to the Black country museum today. if there is one place you visit whilst you are in this neck of the woods it should be here. it is a museum of original buildings painstakingly pulled down ad resurrected on this site. it is very very cool. what was even better was the original fish and chip shop that is resurrected here. the food is made the original way using beef dripping. it is the best fish and chips i have ever tasted!!!

after we finished here we went and had a look around little pakistan and then went to edgbaston to check out the ground.

Dinner tonight- Roast Pork yum.

Wednesday

Got up late and went into the town of tamworth. did a bit of looking around and had a look through the castle and all the retail parks, around the church etc.

i have figured out why all the females i have met have all said that pommie guys have crap hair. its because they get their hair cut by butchers. needless to say i learnt this by being butchered myself.

wednesday afternoon was great. i chilled out for a bit and then helped greg turf his backyard. there is an art worth learning. you never know when you may need to lay grass.

Dinner tonight lamb and freshly shelled peas. yummo

Thursday

caught the bus in birmingham to eet up with jean and john. after a coffee we set off to broadway. a typically quaint english town. here we had lunch (steak and guiness pie mmmm) in a tea room. i also had a knickerbocker glory. a huge ice cream with jelly and fruit. last time i ask what things are; i was stuffed.

from there we headed to chipping camden for alook and then on to sheila and dave#s house where i got to meet them for the first time and we had coffee and biscuits.

Next stop Great Uncle Syd's and i must say he is the english version of my grandfather albeit a little shorter and older but they are very alike. whilst here i met soem more rele's: Pauline and Dave?? sorry its all a blur.

Friday Morning

Barry ( sandra's sisters husband) took me to the bus station (thanks heaps) and i caught the bus back to london where i met up with michelle and brad. managed to buy the wireless headphones i was after (bartered down from 150 to 70, go me) then we caught a bus to stansted. what an airport. some serious overall required here. the lines were terrible.
