We have been to Siagon, Muine and now in Nha Trang, here's the story so far....
Siagon: We arrived, checked in to guesthouse and had a lazy evening for first night. The other says we done our sightseeing, we visited the Cathederal-very beautiful but unfortunately it was closed when we got there so we only got to see outside, but it was lovely just the same. We then went to the War Museum, it was horrifying to see what happened to people during this time, the pictures and stories we read about would have made you sick on the spot, all the while it very interesting and definately worth a visit. i was glad to have went as i didnt really know anything about what happened during it etc so i learned a lot although it was horrendous to see. The only thing which i really enjoyed seeing was the fighter planes, helicopters and big tanks they used suring the war, they were huge and super cool, think Laura thought i was abit of a boy as i was amazed by them and wanted to see them all! After the museum we went to visit a par which Laura's uncle

sadly had a heart attack in, it was really nice to see, it was very beautiful and very peaceful. I was so glad we went to see it, i think Laura really liked seeing it too even though it must have been hard for her.
The couple of nights we were there were nice although somewhat quietish for us. The pubs seemed to be really nice and during the huigh season im sure they would have been buzzing with people but unfortunately due to it being the low season it was somewhat quiet. We decided to give them a bash anyways so the couple of nights there we went to a few bars, they were really nice. In one called Eden we met a waitress who was super nice, she talked away to us as best she could which was impressive, she knew many English words and could keep a conversation. We have been quite amazed at how well people from Asia can speak so much English, they practically all do and very well, its great for us lol! Anyways, after a few drinks each night we returned to our room at the guesthouse so be cooled down by the

amazing air-con, it was tremendous, we would leave it on all night so when we went in it was like a freezer, ah bliss!! We really enjoyed our time in Ho Chi Minh City but we decided to move on. We bought a open air bus ticket and headed to our next stop of Muine.

Muine: We got the bus at 8 and were hit with a surprise when we got on, in the seat in front of us sat our mate from bangkok-Raj! It was great to see her again, we managed to catch up and hear what she had been up to in the 5.5 hours it took us to get to Muine. We arrived at Muine around 2ish and were overcome by the beautiful sight of a sandy beach, it was picturesque! We got our room organised, dumped the bags and headed for a much needed lunch since our bellys were empty and rumbling! We experience what you would call 'not great service' to say the least but in the end we got some food so all was good, we then got changed in to our beach clobber and headed to the beautiful white sandy beach,

Our beautifiul hotel in Muine looked on to the beach
it was very quiet-brilliant! We chilled out for hours on the sun loungers with our ipods and books, bliss, we had arrived in heaven! Later on after having a wee chill out session and getting ready we headed for a resturant for some dinner, one was just across the street-perfect! We had some food and sampled the Green Siagon beer, very nice, infact too nice, we had a couple and decided seeing as they had made us tipsy to head in to town and see what the night life was like! We grabbed a moto driver each and headed in to the town centre where we were met by erm no one, it was dead! The first place that we went to which was recommened by Charlie was shut so we went to the second, it was dead but we went in nways and had a beer and a baileys-the new addiction. We then headed out from there to look for something a bit more lively, this could not be found so we though ah what the hell, lets go back to hotel and have a few there as that must be busy seeing as no one is out in

This is the beach that was literally 2 minutes walk from out door in Muine, beautiful!
the town, wrong again! The hotel bar was in darkness so being the 2 drunking Scottish lasses that we are we though lets go accross the street back to the resturant, get a couple there to take away and sit on the beach! We got to resturant and found 2 guys we had seen before doing this too, so we all got beers and headed to the beach, unfortunately the entrance was now locked so we each pulled up a chair and sat around one of the tables beside the beach. We sat there intil about 1ish drinking and having a laugh with Bart and Yeller, 2 mates from Holland. Bart was wearing a David Hasslehoff t-shirt, he made my day, it was class! We then departed around 1ish and headed back for some sleep, great day ended by a great chill out night! Next day we had a bus booked to head to Nha Trang, we were looking forward to it, and hoped the night life would be slightly better to say the least lol!!

Nha Trang: We headed for our bus to Nah Trang at 1.30, it would take around 5.5 hours to get there so we

got on bus prepared, our ipods and books at the ready. The bus was full, unfortunately the air-con was not as good as the last but it was bareable. We made a stop for the loo, yeah i dont need to explain it again, it was a squatting loo but i knew it would be, i've come to expect it now haha! Infact i was lucky, Lauras was just a tiny hole in the floor at one corner which u flushed out using a bucket-nice eh! Nways we arrived at Nha Trang around 7ish and headed to a hostel recommended by good old Charlie (our best mate-The Lonely Planet guide to Southeast Asia), using my now superb map skills we got there and got a room, a twin room with a fan and bathroom-basic and clean-all we needed! We dumped our stuff, re-freshed ourselves and headed out for dinner since we were hungry, all we had ate that day was a boiled egg which i must tell you about-it came out in a bowl with hot water in it, no egg cup holder-nothing! We broke the shell using the teeney spoons we had to ask for and that was it,

This is the massive seated Buddah also in Nha Trang, its huge!!!!
nothing to put it on or anything so it was to say the least not the most delicious brekkie i had ever had! Nways so we decided to get something hot and spicy, Indian it was! We went to Omars, and had a great meal, i had a spicy chicken Biryani-yummee!!!! It done the job i tell ya, we were full but unfortuantely Laura did not feel too great, she had felt a little dodgy all day so we headed back to room for a chill out night, with ipods and our books-i was now fully addicted to mines so was chuffed i could read some more!
Teh next day we got up early and headed out to see the Reclining Buddah, the seted Buddah and the Pagoda (a temple). We got a couple of moto drivers to take us, they were really nice guys. The Buddahs were amazing, the seated one was huge-infact thats a understatement, it was massive and really pretty! You were able to go inside it and make a prayer if you wished so both me and Laura done this, my prayer was sent to ask that my famiuly was looked after while i was gone

and that My Aunt Margaret recovered ok from her leg operation, it felt really nice to do this and i was chuffed we were able to. We then headed back to our wee area, went to interent cafe for couple of hours then chilled in room for while before getting ready and going out to see exactly what kind of night life Nha Trang offered! We went for some dinner at a place called Crazy Kims, it was well cool, a really nice place which played fantastic music!!! We then headed to a couple of pubs where i decided to try the cocktails they had on offer, unfortunately Laura still felt a little dodgy so she stayed on the coke's. I found the cocktails to be yummy! They came in jugs which although not that big done the trick, i had two and felt the affects already, cheap date eh haha! I tried these at 2 places, one at place called The Red Apple club which was really nice and played good music, then the 2nd at a place called the Red Sun, another nice place where me and Laura played few games of pool, great fun!!!! We then headed

back to the hostel around 12ish as pubs where quiet and we had early start next day as off on a boat trip!
The boat trip was really good, a superb laugh! We got picked up at 9 (we slept in until 8.20 and had to run about getting ready, and running up to shops to get some fruit for brekkie!) but we made it on time for 9 oc lcok bus which took us to harbour to board 'The Fairy'. Our boat had us 2 Scottish gals on it, 2 English guys, a Australia girl and the rest was Vietnamesem, at first we felt a little awkward but these feelings were soon bannished when the party was started! We were taken out to the sea, shown different islands, (one of which we stopped at to chill out on) which were very beautiful and went snorkelling, This was then proceeded by lunch which was a sight you wouldnt believe-the chairs were folded down in to tables, and a huge banquet appeared with rice, noodles, soup, meat, salad, crispy rice roll things and bread-so cool! It of course had to be ate with chopsticks which i am a nightmare at, normally
The food on the boat! The food on the boat! The food on the boat!

It appeared like magic!
i give up after 2 spoons but i had no choice this time, somehow though i managed to do it-woohoo i was impressed with myself as was Laura haha! Striaght after lunch was cleared up the table was kept and turned in to a stage, out came a set of drums (made with string, empty container bottles and a old tambourine thing) a guitar (real) and 2 mics-OMG it was hilarious, as in i had tears running down my face. The entertainers were the guys running it, 2 sang, one played the drums which somehow worked and one played the guitar-it was amazing! As if this was not funny enough they then got the 2 English guys up to sing Yellow Submarine followed by them grabbing me and Laura and 3 others to dance on stage to 'Lets Twist Again'-it was fantastic! So much fun and what a laugh, the best boat trip ever! After calming ourselves down so that our bones stopped aching from laughter we stopped at another island to go to the Aquarium-it was fantastic, we seen baby sharks, turtles, seahorses, blowfish (just like Nemo!!) and loads more, it was great!!!! We then headed back to the

harbour to dock, the boat trip was brilliant and one to remember, especially since all of that only cost us all in around 6quid!!! What a day! This was then followed by a free bus back, we went straight to net cafe where i am now writing this blog, i will continue it once i have lived the next few days, lets just hope they are as good as our day today!!!! Love to all, missing you, claire x
