Puerta del SolPuerta del SolPuerta del Sol

Kathy and I in Puerta del Sol the heart of Madrid´s night life.
Esto es la vida! All I can say is they know how to have a good time here in Spain . . . mas vino por favor! 😊 The wine just keeps coming, and with each nightly activity there seems to be another new drink to try. Dinners are always a good time because everyone has relaxed and unwound a little from the day and is ready to eat, drink, and be merry.

While tonight ended on a fantastic note, it didn´t start so well. I was rudely awaken this morning, once by my alarm and then a second time by my grandma. I must have fallen alseep after the alarm (for 2 minutes!) b-c my grandma says to me, "you better get up and get in the shower Laura!" I was so disoriented, I didn´t know what was going on, and I was definitely NOT ready to get out of bed and into the shower. But grandma is the end all that beats all on this trip so I got out of bed, but continued to be perturbed by all the little stuff; you know how it goes. First the new bus had no leg room, then our

tour guide was hard to understand over our "audio-tour" system, then my purse was too heavy, and my sister was getting on my nerves! After the guided tour we decided to stay downtown and eat lunch and do some shopping, with some other people from the group, and this woman would not stop talking, nor making it painfully obvious that we were tourist . . . not just tourists, but tourists from the U.S.!! Ugh, I was annoyed!

However, we had a good lunch, some chocolate, and made it back in time for me to get over it! I felt much better then had a great time at dinner. We went for a boat ride on the Gualquivir River that runs through the center of Seville, and then went to a quaint little restaurant in the old city where we enjoyed sweet sherry, tapas, and wine. I´ve met so many cool people and it´s always so fun to chat over dinner . . . we laugh a lot!

During out tour of old Seville, the tour guide used Kathy as a prop to show how Spanish women use combs and lace shaws to make the wedding head dress. Cute, huh?
