GETTING READY
Retirement is almost here and are we ready! Frank has worked for over 30 years as an engineer and I was an administrator with a school system for 32 years. The Lord blessed us with good jobs and great opportunities and now we are excited about what lies ahead.

To fully get into the swing of retirement we are packing our RV, The Cozy Turtle (CT for short), taking our 2 small poodles, Martie (white) and Regan (black and blind), and heading to Alaska for the summer. We talked about visiting Alaska several years ago, but the time wasn’t right. Last June after we purchased the CT and talked to a couple with the same type of RV who had been to Alaska, we started to see the possibilities. After some prayerful consideration we began to make plans. Now we are on threshold of our adventure!

The Cozy Turtle is a 21-ft. 1998 Chinook RV. We bought it May 06 on E-Bay! The owner lived in Nevada and drove the RV across the country to deliver it to us. God worked out all the details! It’s very compact, hence the description of “cozy”. But, it has the essentials: 2 single sofas/beds, sink, range, microwave, and refrigerator, bathroom with portable shower and TV with DVD player. There is one small closet and several overhead storage cabinets. We installed a luggage pod on the roof. We should be fine, IF we can keep it simple (we’ll see how that works out!). This RV will be our home for several months. It will serve as our “turtle” shell providing comfort, security and transportation on our journey.

ITINERARY
We plan to leave Virginia around June 15th and make it to Great Falls Montana (entry point for Canada) within 6 or 7 days. We’ll visit Glacier National Park and take several days going through Canada. We want to stop at Banff and Jasper and arrive at Prince Rupert, B. C. in time to board the Alaska ferry on July 2nd and begin our Alaska adventure. We do have reservations for the ferry and the first two campsites, but that’s it. We’re going to be flexible and plan as we go. That’s certainly a change from my normal “plan, schedule and execute” mode. But, after all, we’ll be retired and have the entire summer to see Alaska so we’re going to

take it easy.

This travelogue will really begin after June 15th when we hit the road. God willing and we find Internet connections; I hope to keep our family and friends up to date on our travels and the sights we see from June to September.
Stay tuned!

Prayers for you guys...and a question
Frank and Debbie - may the Lord bless your trip and give you eyes to see His glories along the way! And may He give you both abundant grace with one another too :) Question - are there any spots along the way where you can receive mail? Let us know if there are!
