Back in Edinburgh

Free day in Edinburgh.
A museum day.

It's my last day here in Scotland. I've really enjoyed the past week here in Scotland. The Scottish Highlands are just gorgeous. Unfortunately my second time round in Edinburgh and it is wet and damp. It’s the total opposite of the hot and sunny weather of just one week ago. So I decided to take it easy today. I picked up a few last minute souvenirs and since it is a damp one, I declared today a museum day.

I went to both the Royal Museum and the Museum of Scotland. They are both quite interesting places to wander about. Plus the admission was free to both! lol The Royal Museum has a lot of stuff like dead animals, rocks, Asian stuff, medieval stuff, Egyptian stuff and stuff like that. There was some really interesting stuff to look at and also some not so interesting stuff to look at. As for the Museum of Scotland, can you guess what was on display there? haha This museum was also quite interesting reading up on the history of Scotland and finding out more about the Kings and Queens of Scotland. There were also interesting displays on inventors and migration of the Scots over the years. Did you know that there are over 4 million Canadians with Scottish ancestry? That's almost the population of Scotland itself which I think is about 5 million! Wow. Overall I'd have to say that some of the most interesting parts of the museum were the different types of dress (Asian, Medieval), the Japanese Printmaking display and this huge Millennium clock that is in the foyer.

Tonight will be spent doing laundry and packing up my stuff since I'll be heading to York tomorrow and then it's off to London by Sunday evening.

On that note, it is time to find something for me to eat for dinner. Hope all is well in your corner of the World.
