These women agreed that I could photograph them. They were sitting on a bench looking out the window into the marketplace below. I was taken with their presence.

How did we all fit into this taxi? It was even more crowded the next morning as we went to the bus station with our luggage too!

This is the field office building with sleeping quarters in Parasi Village, Nawal Parasi District, Nepal

Our first dinner in Parasi was at the guest house. You can see our rice with lentils poured over, spinach, vegetables, and chicken. We also enjoyed a beer and bottled water.

Here is the cyber cafe that I used in Parasi. I also spoke with the man with the man who runs it to learn about computer use and internet infrastructure in the area.

This is a metal urn filled with lentils which were cooked for breakfast and dinner and served with white rice.

Even though it is the dry season in the Terai, there are still enough mosquitos to make a bed net worth while.

Here we are standing with some women working for a local non-profit group. They assist with coordinating information sessions in villages with arsenic tainted water.

These are stacks of the pieces that make up the water filter. Put these together, put some iron nails in the top bucket and bricks, sand and gravel in the bottom, and you get a $50 filter which has a flow-rate of 28 liters/hour. It filters out arsenic (binds to the iron) and all bacteria and viruses.

Here is the fabric shop in Parasi. I bought some fabric for a kurta suwal outfit.

We are now dee-dee with the local women (sisters)! Robyn and I were very excited to show off our new outfits made by the local tailor.

We met this holy man and heard about his personal shrine next to the Buddhist holy site Ramagram. It is one of the 8 burial sites for Buddha's ashes, and the birthplace of Buddha's mother.

We shopped briefly in India. Here is a general shop.

We were invited to dinner in a hut of one of the locals. Here is her cooking area.

After dinner at the hut, we went over to another villagers home at her request. She and a few of her relatives were studying basic reading and writing. They meet every evening, except Saturdays, as adults because they did not have the opportunity to go to schools as girls.

On our last day, the other women went on a fly by of Everest. I wanted to go to another temple, so went to Shiva at 7:00 am. Very lovely.

I can't tell you how much I enjoyed your trip. After Kathmandu I couldn't find any of the sites on the map that I have so will have to pursue that. You are such a lucky young lady to have had this opportunity thank you for sharing it with us.
