They just loved this game... Knock knock..? No one opened the door. Before I came here I wasn´t sure if I should take a boat to the most southern continent. The Idea to be on this special place slowly spawned in me slowly. I was always in the conflict if it´s worth the money. Even if you get a last minute ticket it´ll cost at least 2500 US$... alot of money for a 10 day cruise.... Hmm I was really finghting with myself... should I ask my parents for a credit?... :-/ so many questions and no answer until I reached Ushuaia. The most southern city in the world. I walked for about 2 hours from travel angency to travel agency and tourist informations... but again another problem had solved itself! No, nobody donated me a trip - The season is over - end of conflict...but my dream will remain and has to be rescheduled into the future. My father mentioned that I should go on my own, because he wants to come as well... maybe it´s destiny :-) or my father called all travel agencies just before I arrived here... LOL but this is very unlikely.
Ushuaia is hard to describe, it reminds me
of so many places: Sibiria, Iceland, Norway, the alps... And these places have something in common, heaps of snow.... ok maybe not the alps(2006/07) .. LOL The cityscape shows clearly the rough climate. Construction work can only be performed in a few summery months and the winter can tear appart the sidewalks easily. So pot holes and gravel side walks are a usual scenery here. The houses show steep metal covered roofs. Some houses are painted extremely coulourful to cheer up the winter depression. Powerlines are hung up above the ground, due to the permafrost in winter.
The mainstreet looks just like a street in a European ski resort, one outdoor shop after the other and lots of souvenier stores.

Hello from the US!
Yes we have read your blog! It was a fun time down there on our hiking expedition even with all your terrible jokes! Wish we could have stayed longer. Now, we look forward to your observations on Buenos Aires.
