Actually, I'm not sure if this is from futbol or running into the DESPACIO sign on the mountain. Haha.
I try not to be a jealous person. My little sister is absolutely amazing at EVERYTHING, and as a result of this a lot of people expect me to be jealous of her. I have to admit, that there have been those moments when I wanted to beat her over the head with my track spikes. (Eg. When she broke my well-earned 50 meter dash record at "Track and Field Day" in the 6th grade). 😊 I'm just joking. Even though the rest of the family won't admit it, it is a fact that I am the one person in the world that is most proud of Chelsi Lyn Friese. 😊 She is one of the most amazing and talented people I know, not to mention my best friend.

Now, to the point of this post: In the past month and a half since I have been gone, Chelsi has done some incredible things. She has had her picture on the front of God knows how many newspapers, scored more points in basketball than I think all of the Friese's that ever existed combined, and gotten alot of well-deserved credit. She's extremely talented at basketball.

But European soccer is

This happened when an old skinny guy plowed me over with his elbows when I didn't even have the ball. Haha.
another story...

If you think that playing an away basketball game against your rival team that wants to see every single player on your team dead on the hardwood is tough, try playing REAL soccer (known as futbol to the Spaniards) against a bunch of grown-up male faculty members. It's not a walk in the park. I thought that American football was crazy at times, but the guys here take futbol VERY seriously. Like, imagine that they let the Oakland Raider's fans actually play in their games. That is more like what European soccer is like. The people here live and breathe futbol, and it seems like just about every guy here is really good at it.

I thought that playing in the CLM Students vs. Faculty futbol game would be a lot of fun and laid back, so I decided to play. Before this game the last time I played soccer was when we had orange slices and Hi-C juice boxes at half time. It was really fun, if you like rugby that is. 😊 Our team actually ended up winning this game, and I got picked up to play on the CEA intramural futbol team. Most

The one on my ankle happened when I collided with the other team's goalie, and the one on my calf/shin is a prime example of what happens when you don't wear shin-guards. :)
of our games being against other Americans, it is a little less brutal.

So anyways, just to show everyone back at home that I am not slacking off from sports, and maybe to take a little bit of glory away from Chelsi 😉, I thought that I would post pictures of my awesome soccer injuries. I'll be sure to post more after our game next week. 😊

Besos!!

P.S. Newby is not allowed to look at this post because he will make fun of me for being a "wussy girl". 😊
