Having to endure the worst winter weather Boston has seen this winter on the day of my departure, am just glad to have made it to London, 1 1/2 hour delay at Logan was not as bad considering most of the flights were cancelled. I almost died carrying my back pack to the airport, it feels like tons of steel on my back, had massive back muscle cramps soon as i sat on the gate waiting for the flight to board! flight was a bit bumpy, pockets of turbulence was frequent i almost reached for my Dramamine. Arriving early morning at Heathrow, i took my time getting to customs, not really looking forward to lugging my super heavy backpack again, but no choice, figured out the Tube system fairly quickly and before you know it on my way to the hostel. One thing about the tube is it looks like sitting in someone's living room space is tight but cozy and clean. I found the ·YHA hostel no problem ,checked in but can't get to my room til' 2pm so left my packs at the basement storage, took a nap at the lounge, I was so tired I didn't really care if I snored. then to kill some more time went for a walk and find the British museum, since I left my map on my backpack, i was navigating blindly, eventually found it and enjoyed myself looking at exhibits, it was a really cool place, nice architecture and most of all FREE! Then decided to head back and i got lost really bad, took me 3 hours walking trying to get back, as i was getting lost i found this Filipino restaurant, went in and had a fabulous, Crispy Pata with garlic rice. Seated next to me was a Filipino family with teenage kids who obviously grew up in the UK with a really thick British accents, anyhoo they help point me to the right direction. Took my key to the room, sharing with 3 other guys. Gave Olie a call and we met up for the evening to unwind and catch up on each other's lives, reminisced about our SA trip over a few drinks at a rowdy bar with people watching a rugby match between England and Wales, i guess no different than watching the Red Sox play at a sports bar in Boston. On the way back Olie showed me the campus of his UNI. Really glad to see my former tentmate and Brian if you're reading this he seems to have grown up a little bit, and i thought mellowed down until he opens his mouth and started telling his stories, yup same old Olie.

Next day found myself strolling around the city, not really keen on taking the double decker tourist bus around London, i think i appreciate the city now more than I did the first time i was here 4 years ago, probably because it was sunny, a bit breezy but nothing compared to the New England weather I just left behind. Oh yeah about the title, have to constantly read the reminders painted on the road, making sure i don't become part of the London landscape, Look Right, Look Left, welcome to England!

Bought my train ticket to Dover for this afternoon, looking forward to the next leg of my journey,Victoria station is packed today, i have to carry my super heavy packs again on the train with tons of people fighting for space, if i made it through your hear next from me in Dover perhaps.

FYI: It could just be jetlag but i found myself really clumsy on my first day of travel, and making stupid decisions here and there, scratching my head as i look up for signs,i guess i really haven't found my traveller's legs yet.

Hi Gilbert
I love Jacob's photo, and your blog. Your trip sounds so exciting, and you have so long to do it. We missed you at Liora's "bath" but Jing was there, and Jacob did say your name a couple times. I'm looking forward to your next entry. -Jon
