If you don't know who she is its worth your time to google/wikipedia her to find out.
This weekend I went with my school program here in Prague on an excursion ot Vienna, what a beautiful city!! The streets and buildings are much cleaner than in Prague and the architecture is similar to that of Switzerland. I mostly spent the entire trip walking and eating which is really what I love to do anyway.
We got in Friday night and skipped out on the mini tour to hang out with a friend of Cooper who is studying in Vienna this semester. He took us to a little restuarant called Weiner Wald so we could get Weiner Schnitzle (I got the chicken, not veal, schnitzle and it was really good). After that we had to stop off at the Sacher Hotel bar and dessertery to get Sacher Torte, a very rich chocolate cake, also superb. That night we went to the main town square and went ice skating. There was two rinks set up with paths connecting the two sides, and the paths round through the park, in between trees and such so that it was like strolling through a park, but on skates, and I don't think I have had more fun on this trip. The next day

we had a walking tour of different sites in Vienna including the statue of "Sissy" or Queen Elizabeth, and the Holocaust memorial site in Vienna. After the walking tour we visited the Fine Arts museum which was decent. There was a large array of Flemish artists including some of Rembrandts works, but for the most part I thought the gallery was unimpressive. There are so many good museums in Vienna that it was kinda disappointing to spend an afternoon in one and feel a little underwhelmed. There was a collection of Egyptian and Roman art that was interesting and the displays and lighting was set up beautifully. That night Josh, Nicole and I went out to Mexican and it was fabulous. I have been craving Mexican for awhile now, being so far away from our American Tex-Mex, and it was great to finally get some chicken and steak fajitas. Sunday morning a group woke up early to see the Vienna boys Choir and attend the church service there but I decided to head over to the Natural History Museum instead and see if that was any better than the fine arts museum. The museum didn't open until 9 so I

I really enjoyed this park that the statue was in...it would probably look much nicer when the flowers are in bloom though.
found myself sipping on a grande mocha in the Starbucks in the main square area relaxing. Its nice to experience some amenities form home every once in awhile. I spent the rest of the morning looking at dinosaur fossils and learning about the moorish people who lived in the swamps of Europe and I also saw one of the best known pieces of art, the Venus of Willendorf. Anyone who has taken an art history lesson knows of the importance of her and is probably pretty jealous that I got to see her, she's way cool. And I was pretty much the only person frequenting the Natural History museum at 9 o'clock in the morning on a Sunday so I had her all to myself. The whole morning was actually a very empowering experience, just being alone walking Vienna and chilling with Venus of Willendorf, it was fabulous!

I would say there were three big highlights to my trip in descending order were:
3. Mexican food: how I missed you.
2. Ice Skating: I was actually very impressed with myself that I didn't wipe out once.

There is a stunning resemblance between this guy and my second cousin, so I had to take a picture of him.

Dinosaurs are sweet, but what I actually love to look at in natural history museums are the exstinct mammals. Weird half-armadillo-half-giraffe things that were apparently walking around Iowa back in the day... Or Dayton Ohio. And the hoards of exstinct marine life, brachiopods that looked like clams but were more closely related to starfish. Anywho, I am glad that google finally led me to a blog of yours. I've already made the assumption that you have some objection on principle to the douche-baggery of facebook, but I'm delighted to have found this.

Hey Anonymous
Wow, for finding me on google, you seem to know me pretty well, or understand my humor at least. Yes, I do think that Facebook is the devil, hate to disappoint. Next time leave a name or something... anonymous is so elusive.
