After a long flight that included a 2 hour layover we were ready to get home and relax a bit. The 25 days in CA were awesome, what a great state! No rain or snow, and mild temps throughout the first leg of our road trip. Kids are truly enjoying and most importantly Anna is still "on board" with the whole school and travel plans. Rebecca picked us up at the airport for our journey home, since we had left there had been over 2 ft of new snow at our home. This made for an interesting drive up our unplowed driveway, we barely made it! Lucky for all of the HEAVY LUGGAGE!!! The snow hadn't melted at all and was now piled everywhere.
Anna needed to get all of her stuff done, mounds of mail, laundry, haircut and color, manicure, coffee with friends, gossip etc. I had some work to do myself, so Rebecca stayed for 3 nights to help. That gave us a little break from the kids and vice versa.
On Tuesday Rebecca and I picked up Jess, Elle, Tiffany, Amberly, Emma Sue, Tanner, Austin, Dylan, and James. We all went bowling and out for pizza. What a funny clan of friends. We had a great time. I think back to my friends from elementary school....They are still my friends today...Chris, Mac, Stacy, Brian, Chip, David, Mike, I hope the same is true for J and T.
On wednesday we meet up with Jeff, Cyndy, AJ for a wonderful dinner at a steak house in Parker. Since we were having heat problems, the kids stayed the night with the walkers!!! WOW are they great cousins!
The next morning it was 4 degrees so we couldn't wait to get to the valley of the sun! We picked up the kids and off we flew!! I keep telling the kids if we are not the luckiest family on earth we are pretty darn close.
