Andrew on the plane
We got 2 meals and a couple of snacks on the way over We arrived in London a little before lunch time on the 12th. We took the Heathrow Express Train from Heathrow airport the the Paddington station near Notting Hill. From there we took a short taxi ride to our hotel.
The first weekend was spent getting over jet lag and seeing some of the sights near to our hotel including the Kensington Palace, Hyde Park, the Albert & Victoria Museum and the Natural History Museum. And of course the first meal we had here was fish & chips!
We met up with the rest of the Americans going through the same program on Monday. Over the next couple of days we had some boring orientation business to attend to and did some more sight seeing. We went to the British Museum and saw the Rosetta Stone, saw the play Love Song, went to a traditional British pub and went to the National Portrait Museum (on accident, we meant to go to jus the National Museum).
On Wednesday moring we headed for Leeds in a private bus. The ride was long but we saw some nice countryside.
