Parkinson Building
the Parkinson Building is the first building you see driving up to campus and is the most well known building as the university's logo is the Parkinson bell tower The University of Leeds is a large (almost 50,000 undergraduate and graduate students), metropolitan university in the city of Leeds. Leeds is a 4-5 hour bus ride or a 2-3 hour train ride north from London. Leeds itself has a population of 700,000 and a bustling city centre filled with shops, restaurants and clubs. I am taking 2 business courses and 2 politics courses here and am finding the education system VERY different from home. I have a lot fewer hours of class and teacher contact and a lot more reading. The students here spend the day in class and doing homework and do little homework at night instead going out to the pubs 4-5 nights a week. It has recently been brought to my attention that you guys probably don't know what I mean when I say "Butler" . . . Butler is the US program that we applied and signed-up through to come over here. They gave us an orientation, plan events, take care of our grade tranfers, setting-up accomodations, etc. 😊
