We had a lovely view over Ao Dalum Bay.
A lot of bad things have been written about Phi Phi and we were not sure if it would be to our taste. However, having been here for 2 nights we think it is a very nice island, with a relaxing feel about it. There are no cars here, which is great. We booked into one place for 2 nights but have decided to move nearer the beach for some snorkelling. There is a lovley reef just off the beach.

The village is quite busy and loud at night, but we have managed to find somewhere quieter to stay. There is entertainment for all tastes, including a ladyboy Thai kick-boxing last night (which we didn't watch).

We visited the Tsunami memorial garden yesterday. It was very sad to see the photographs and stories of all those young vibrant people who lost their lives. Phi Phi seems to be recovering well, but there is a mass of building at the moment.

This room was nicely presented but had quite a few gaps for the mozzies to get in and bite us.

Shame they were still building the one beneath.

You can see a number of newly built bungalows below, but look to the left and you will see what the tsunami did.

Phi Phi
Hi there. Thanks for your interesting blog on Phi Phi. We are staying at the Phitharom for 2 nights at the beginning of May. Last time at Phi Phi was before the Tsunami. Nice to see travellers photos. Just hope I don't feel to sad seeing all the changes. Counting the sleeps.

Phi Phi
Hi We are sure you will enjoy Phi Phi just as much. We did not see it before the tsunami but they have rebui;t much of it and the village has a great atmosphere. There is still some building work, but that is to be expected. There is a lovely memorial garden quite near to Pitharom (look towards the beach) which is very moving.
