So you have a rental car 'eh...

If you have never driven an automatic may i recommend you never bother, and left hand drive is also slightly overrated too- not quite as avant garde as having one in the UK. Our two tone (white and filth) KIA is putting the miles behind us but does quite simply emphasise the inefficiency and appalling status of American Cars.

Simply a few notes for anyone planning a driving visit to the USA:

• If you don't have a truck you suck
  
• Less than a V8- 'what? they come in less than 5 litres?'
  
• Be comfortable in it, you cannot walk anywhere as everything is massive and too far apart
  
• If you ever have to get an automatic, compensate fuel allowances as you'll be forever in the wrong gear at about 5,000rpm
  
• Be prepared to be frustrated and drive around if 'GAS' is more than $2.60 a Gallon- thats just shy of 60p a litre
  
• Don't ever get a white car with cream interior- mud/food/backpack muck/ dirty hiking boots/more mud- seriously non-car friendly!!
  
• SIMPLY Don't ever get a KIA Spectra- EVER!
  

not to mention the roads (if you can call them that!), but i'll save that rant for another time...

p.s. this is for novelty pruposes only and the car does have cup holders, big ones!

p.p.s. and it does get us from A to B a lot quicker than walking or a non-existent bus!
