High jumper...
Joe jumping over Will Monday 6th November 2006 to Sunday 12th November 2006 Another week of 25 hours flexible at work. The development I was doing wasn’t anywhere as complicated or challenging as my last two contracts, but it was reasonable money, a good team and great hours.
I saw the physio and chiro at least once each, making slow progress, if any. I also went climbing at the Roxx with Lisa and Tim. It was good fun and stretched out my bad shoulder muscles.
Our meal out that week was to Winnie Bago’s - nice, but not as good pizza as Cocopelli’s.
A fabulous parcel arrived from Emma and Tam. It was Nige’s television debut on Discovery Channel in his very own show (see the trailer
here) - Campervan Crisis! I watched all the episodes back to back. It was great! Nige is such a natural, surely more TV work is due his way! It was also fantastic to see the appearances of Nick, Tom, Em & Tam. It made me miss them all so much. It was the first time I had felt homesick. It was strange - I was up from seeing the DVD and down from missing them
- an ‘emotional yoyo’ moment.
The upcoming weekend I had been looking forward to for a while - the Waikuku kiting weekend!! :-) Steve (the guy who had lent me the kite board and pads) had organised a weekend of kiting up at Waikuku beach. He had booked two bunk rooms right next to the beach. There was me and Lisa, Steve, the Buggy Boys (Joe, Will and Mason), Craig (Joe’s Dad), another Steve, Paul, Shane, Rich, Mike & Sam. It was a really cool weekend, lots of kiting, drinking beer, big fires on the beach and eating BBQ food (cheers Craig!). Some of the highlights were the huge static jumps (see
video), buggying over the dunes, drunken balance boarding and the crazy drunk women from next door who kept coming over at random moments to show us random photos and tell us random stories… We also got a nice surprise visit by the ‘Dutchies’ - our two housemates Suzan and Lian had come up for the day.
On the Sunday there was a big (the event & the cars) American car rally nearby, with lots of very cool cars to walk around and drool over.
