What feels like my first real day in London, I make my way to Kilburn Park Underground, which is only about 10min walk and into Piccadilly Circus. There's not really any sign posts like Australia, just random names on the occasional sides of buildings so I'm finding it a bit hard getting around with a map. I decide I'll make my way to Trafalger Square but end up joining The Mall half way down. Then I see all these people staring at the road behind me, and I must have come just in time for the changng of the guard, horsemen with big red coats and black hats pooping down the road on their horses. I follow them to Buckingham Palace where I notice the flag is up, which I think means the Queen is in residence! Hundreds of people everywhere around the famous monuments all taking pictures and looking at maps so I don't really feel alone.

The London Book i have has a walking tour that starts from Buckingham so I decide that will be my guide for the day. Walk through St James Park, which was so beautifuly layed out. Saw my first squirrels, how cute are those things! hopping around scaring the ducks. I arrive at Westminster Abbey and decide to take the look inside for £7. No photography inside but it was just amazing I had shivers down my spine! It seemed like I was in the land of the living and the dead, as ther were just tombs and plaques everywhere, hundreds of statues and people buried beneath the floor u were standing on. The most interesting to me was being inches away from all my characters of my 16th century novels. Elizabeth 1, Mary Tudor, the Seymours, Lady Jane and all that were beheaded by George VIII, Cromwell EVERYONE. The major peoples rooms were quite small and the tourists were all crammed around but it wasn't really bad. Everything was intricate, its just to much that I can't really explain it. One of the rooms was so old, and had the oldest tiles in England on the floor.

Hard to leave but made my way out. All the major sites seemed to be right next to each other, with the Parliment and Big Ben just around the corner. Glimpsed 10 Downing street from behind steel gates and police. Guards were on the streets in horses and red jackets, with tourists swarming around them, the horses must be trained well. Arrived in Trafalger Square, with a quick phone call home at historical end of journey. At a internet cafe just near there, first one I've had the chance. Hope I can give u a little taste of what my senses are giving me!!

Will update these days with photos when I remember to take my cords with me 😊
