Iguazu Falls
IGUAZU FALLS- took off from BA and almost made it to Iguazu at the first attempt. We had just about landed (we were virtually level with the tree tops) when the pilot realised the airport was closed due to fog. You'd think someone would have told him beforehand. So 90 minutes back to BA and 102 minutes in cold storage before the 90 minute return trip back to Iguazu. These falls had be worth it. They are.We hooked up with this great Italian guy Giorgio (its an Armani Gerry - as Giorgio explained to us - same name, different bank balance) and had a sensational day gawking at these THINGS. One second of these falls could power all the turbo flush bidets in Argentina for a week. The amount of water being flushed over these crevices gives rise to some to lifes great conundrums.
- where does all this water come from and why doesn't that place empty out?
-where does it all go to and why doesn't that joint fill up?
-why do cockroaches always die belly up?
- where do birds go to die of old age?
but I degress. If you are ever in the area, check them out.

Iguazu Falls

IGUAZU FALLS -the town of Iguazu is a sleepy, red earth type of town, quite run down considering the tourist boom. Cafes, restaurants, providing the usual menu of pizza, meat and ham and cheese sandwiches with the added bonus of thousands of flies. Arriving at the falls you soon forget the cuisine. The falls without exaggeration are spectacular. Having walked/ trekked some 18 klms that day just to keep getting that other vantage point you just can´t get enough. Of course the day was made all the more eventful with our new companion Giorgio. Any single Australian female looking for an athletic Sicilian, then Giorgio is your man. Just look up Costra Nostra in the phone book.
