I suck at Spanish

SO- today I am having a really really tough day, man. The spanish thing is really hard and I feel like I will never get it. I try to have conversations and nothing comes out... OR I am in class and the teacher is correcting every single word I am saying. It really really really sucks. I feel worse today than I did a week ago, but maybe it is just that with every day that passes, I gain more insight into what I don´t know. I find myself wanting to speak English more and more, simply so that I can express what I am thinking and feeling rather than talking about the weather, how tired I am, and what I did last night or this morning on the walk to school. I mean, really, no one cares about that stuff.

Anyways, yes, I am just having a down day and hopefully I will feel better in the next few days? I think I need to move on from Antigua now and make my way either traveling or to another town for more Spanish. They say that more than 4-5 hours a day is all you can really handle, but

Where we study in the mornings/afternoons- it is empty right now for lunch
of course I am pushing myself to learn more and maximize these intial weeks on the trip. The afternoons are spent with one-on-one conversation with my teacher at the school. It is much easier to practice with someone who is willing to correct me when I say things completely backwards. I can only hope that more is sinking in than I think is!

Here are some more pictures that I took last week of the school and around Antigua. It is a quaint little town and I am starting to run into friends at different spots around the city.

Juan- my afternoon teacher for first week, but traded him because he liked to talk to the ladies more than teach me spanish. What can you do... he is only 21!

Actually this is a church in small pueblo near Antigua. Went on bike ride with the school where we saw several similar churches.

In fact no one wears helmets here! This is rare for there to even have one person with a helmet on the scooter. Notice the armed guard in the back- they are all over at the banks and on the beer trucks... obviously!
