Everywhere i look i see people drinking out of a wooden cup. with that wooden cup they also have a thurmos with them. it is so hot right now in buenos aires, but people are still drinking maté. even in mar del plata every group of people had atleast one cup of maté that was being passed around. it is hard to explain why the people in argentina love this stuff. it is basically like drinking hot tea, but out of a different cup. it is pretty good stuff, but it is more social then anything i think? there is one server who pours the hot water and if you skip somebody then people flip out. there are rules to pouring and how much water can cover the^green stuff...can´t remeber the name of it....i am going to bring some back with me so that at dewey beach delaware we can pass the cup around and see what you guys think...
on tuesday night was my roommate fransico´s bday. he turned 27. we went to this restaurant that was pretty close to my house cerca de congresso. there were no other gringos in the place so i know the restaurant had
to be good. we had empanada´s as app., then we had a plate of meet, peas, french fries, and an egg on top of the meat. then we had deserts...plus a couple of beers. all of this was $100 pesos or $33 american to eat like kings. good stuff. it is still so hard to get used to that on a tues. night we went left our house at 10. started eating at 11, and then we left the restaurant at 1am. people were still eating and were probably there for another hour. i love bs. as. it is going to be hard to leave.
i am a little sick right now. this is the first time the whole trip that i feel a little wounded. i slept like 11 hours last night and am going to chill tonight and hopefully will be good to go tomorrow for the weekend! it is like 35 c. here today...or about 90ish?? pretty hot either way...

the green stuff is yerba mate, that's it:P the recipient where you drink it from is called mate too, the green thing is the yerba mate -mate herb- or just yerba. wonder why it's so expensive in the states greetings
