You are Da Man What a trip bro, I know the feeling of wanting to get back into the real world for awhile. I had it and lost it about a month after I returned. Im planning on coming to Des Moines when you get back. Give me a call on my cell. Where you going to be in Cali. My buddy that was in Brazil with my lives right on Hermosa beach. You should meet up if you have time. My cell is 614 352 8482
wow okay thomas, grow the facial hair back, my gosh, my nephew is one hell of a hottie. no wonder there are always girls around you. uncle dave loves reading your blogs and giggles. do not want to know what is going through his head. his words are "go thomas" OUCH.
loveyou b
koala Tom< you are good at everythin else but spelling. Mom told me about the KY you were able to hang out with. He is coaching basketball. Can't you find something to do like that since you want o keep traveling? I totally remember the beach from Pointe Break. You seem to always get the best views. Please remember to spell koala bear correctly. I got a good laugh when you said our guide Bernie hadn't showered in weeks. They wanted you to experience the full tour. Did you understand the aussie soccer game? You can always find something to do.
you are money Tom, I can't believe you didn't stay longer in Austraila. It is cool that you got to snorkel in the Great Barrier Reef. I know you have plenty of money. Aunt Kathy just got twenty more bucks on your lease for one of your places. HA! I've never heard about the flies down there. And what a hoot about the Foster's beer. What is your drink of choice? Your picture of the Sydney opera houe is from the perfect angle. Mom tells me you are always surfing. Yeah, it's a good thing you didn't see any sharks. I wonder about the great white sharks.
Laos Glad to finally catch up with you. It is Holy Week. The sermon at our Methodist church discussed whether you were witht he crowd or concerned about the cross. I have never had a Palm Sunday service about that. They also showed snip-ips from The Passion movie. I have only seen it once and that's enough.
I am amazed at how you can meet someone from Des Moines who has been to the drink. CRAZY! I can't pronounce any of the names of places you have visited. I am inerested in why you wanted to go to Laos. I'm glad you talk to travelers about good places before you actually get to your destination. that way the locals don't take advantage of you. Good to hear you are still able to practice speaking spanish.
Billy has to boys for Easter. I will go to a friends house. Hey! I have a date with a local guys who is also divorced with one son. The neighbors set me up. I am looking forward to it.
weekend house Tom I cannot believe you found someone who went to school in Iowa. You are international baby! Thank goodness the girls picked you up at the bus station. It is wonderful that they cook for you too. Are storm part of the winter season? Is an asado like eating at Golden Corral? Too funny that you got to watch the Superbowl in Argentina. I was cheering for the Bears to win because of Uncle Alan.
buses I guess buses are the way to travel around. It seemsto take forever 20 hours. It is because of all the moutains? Glad to hear you have guys to talk to like Geprge. You went on a bike tour for exericse. What a hoot! Like you need it. Was it like Ragbrai? HA! I can't believe how much trust you put into people. Everyone seems to help each other out. Thanks for keeping us updated.
bad luck Tom, why are you always stuck next to the babies. I would keep a pacifier in my pocket for such emergencies. Glad you got your bag back and that Engenia helped. Thanks.
cooking I am so glad you cooked for all those people. It looked delicious. Do they eat ranch and cheese and chinese noodles on their salads? The kitchens look small. They all have some sort of plain tiles. Sleep a little to catch up on some rest.
the tea cup Tom, I had a different idea about what those brown cup were. Take a guess. It looks like a pipe is sticking out of them. I know Aunt Kathy would love a cup of hot tea and so would Dad. I like to know the little socially accepted tidbits of information from that region. Cool stuff to know. Glad to find out about the plate of meat with the egg on top. You are a king.
staying in buenos aires Tom, you are breaking my heart by saying you don't want to leave. HA! How do you keep track of all these people you meet? Glad you are safe and enjoying your life to the fullest. Can Eugenia come and visit you while you still travel through June? I think she would like DC if you showed her around and she met your family.
communication I am trying to have a one sided conversation. I hope you get this message and know that I am thinking about you on you travels. I have enjoyed looking at all your pictures because it takes my mind off the real world.
green stuff...can´t remeber the name of it.... the green stuff is yerba mate, that's it:P
the recipient where you drink it from is called mate too, the green thing is the yerba mate -mate herb- or just yerba.
wonder why it's so expensive in the states
