Philippines!! Well, more specifically, Pagbilao!!! Nothing too exciting has been going on here...most days I chill at home with my Lola (Grandma to you English speaking folk). Christmas was aiight...had to get up super early to get ready for church. The mass was gonna start at 8:30am, but of course you gotta get up early to shower and eat breakfast. I brought clothes that were a little more dressed up, but it turns out that I didn't even really need to dress up that much! I could have gotten away with just jeans and the red top I brought... I was a little miffed, but hey it was Christmas and I think it's always better to be more dressed up than not.
Christmas was not so tradtional, I think..we did go to church the day after I got here so I only made it one night during simbang gabi. Food-wise, it was a low scale spread cause there's not much of us and well my mom sent a lot of stuff to make spaghetti so that's what we had. Also got some leche flan though so that was really yummy! I still want to have bibingka and also lot of
Lola and I
Christmas morning other food. My aunt taught me how to make pancit so I think I can handle it and make some when I go back to Japan. Hopefully I can find bihon (the kind of noodle I like for pancit) too.
In a couple days, my aunt and I are going to Manila and hanging out there for a couple days. It's like going from Tottori to Osaka. From a small town to a big city. I want to go to the movies there, there is a new movie with Judy Ann Santos, who I like and it's also a romantic comedy..plus I can understand it!! It is such a nice change to be able to understand what's going on.
Right..mosquitoes...they love me...It is warmer here but not as bad as other times I've come yet they still attack. I have to buy more OFF because the thing my parents sent was almost empty! Good thing they have some at the drugstores here. I have four mosquito bites on one finger alone. They will really get me wherever they can..grr!

Tell your Lola that I'm called Nana in Minnesota. From snow in Japan to mosquitoes sounds good from here. Have fun.
